Mason laughed behind her.

Aspen tried to dart past, but he spun them around each time. Pippa giggled and struggled to get out of his iron grip, but had no luck.

“Okay, I give up!” Pippa yelled.

He turned her to face him, his eyes locking on her mouth. “Oh yeah?”

Pippa wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down as if she was going to kiss him. At the last moment, she jumped into his arms throwing off his balance so that they both fell into the waves. He used his arm to hold them just above water. Aspen joined her, giving her dad the final push underwater. Pippa climbed off him and Aspen gave her a high five.

Mason broke the surface, shaking his head and sending water flying around him. “You traitor.”

Pippa shrugged. “Hey, like the woman said—us girls have to stick together.”

Aspen beamed back at her.

“Alright, a man knows when he’s been beaten. How about some pizza for dinner?”

“Yes!” both ladies said at the same time before turning towards one another and bursting into giggles.

“And some peanut butter chocolate cheesecake for dessert?” Mason smirked.

The last time they’d eaten that he’d . . . oh, that bastard was just trying to rub in what she was missing.

“Actually, I’m in the mood for some ice cream. What about you, Aspen?” Pippa asked.

“Yes!”

Mason hooked an arm around each of them as they made their way back to shore and a waiting Lady.

I could get used to this.
