“Last night, you said you were all mine.”

A light rosy hue tinted her cheeks. “If you want that. I mean, I know it was the heat of the moment—”

“Doesn’t matter. I always say what I mean.”

Her eyes widened. “Always?”

Mason’s thumb trailed over her jaw. He leaned in, pressing a chaste kiss on her lips. “Always.”

Relief flashed in her gaze. “Good to know.”

“If you like this”—he motioned to the tray and smirked—“just wait until you see what I have planned for after breakfast.”

“Oh, yeah? And what is on the agenda?”

Mason took a sip of his own coffee. “I’m thinking brunch, but you’re on the menu this time.”

Pippa coughed and set down the mug while she tried to catch her breath. “It’s a good thing I have the bookstore covered today, then.” She bit her lip. “I thought for sure you’d had enough of me last night.”

Mason set the tray back on the table before he wrapped his arms around her. “I’m not sure that’s possible, Beauty.”

This kiss was slow and sensual. He took his time, coaxing her tongue with his. She tasted like coffee and new beginnings. Rolling over on top of her, he braced himself on his elbows, staring directly in her eyes.

Her nipples hardened against his chest as desire bloomed in her dilated pupils.

“Are you sore?” he asked.

She shook her head, her fingers threading through the longer hair at the top of his scalp.

“You’re so goddamned sexy.” Mason pressed a kiss to her mouth, and then her jaw, peppering more of them down her body as he trailed his hands to her breasts. Every part of her was soft and feminine. He couldn’t get enough. Each touch was like a hit of the most potent drug. Arousal flooded through him as he situated himself between her thighs. Her mouth parted as she looked down at him.

Mason breathed in the sweet musk of her sex and groaned. “You smell so fucking good.”

“Mason.”

“I got you, baby. Just lie back and relax. Let me make you feel good.” His cock pressed against the mattress painfully. He thrust his hips over the bed as he licked up her slick heat. She gasped, her thighs squeezing around his head. Going down on a woman had always been one of his favorite activities, but this—with Pippa—was so much better than he ever remembered.

“Play with your tits,” he ordered before diving back into her pussy, finding her clit.

Pippa arched her back. “Oh my God!” she whined. “Please, Mason.”

“Don’t worry, Beauty. I’m gonna give you what you need.” He was going to take her to the highest of heights. Maybe then she’d understand the free fall he was experiencing because of her.

Pippa had knocked him off his axis. I only hope I don’t fail her too.

An hour and a half and one shower later, Mason’s gaze was glued to Pippa’s round ass as she climbed the ladder to the tree house ahead of him.

“You sure this is a good idea?” he asked, entering the structure behind her.

She plucked the pillows out of the box she’d brought and set them on the window seat for Aspen. “Yes. I have you to keep me safe. And I want to get all this set up so she has a surprise when she comes home from camp.”

Another piece of his heart fell for the woman before him. The way she genuinely cared for Aspen, going above and beyond, was just one of the things he liked about her. “What can I do to help?”

She pointed to the window. “There’s beads to hang on those with rainbow curtains.”

He got to work, untangling strings of plastic sparkly beads before hooking them over the curtain rods between the colorful curtains. By the time he was done, Pippa had everything else set up. Sparkly lights hung around the ceiling, like blinking stars. A flameless candle with fake drippy wax adorned the small bookshelf. And a sculpture of a girl fighting a dragon, like the ones in the bookstore, sat on the shelf.

He was speechless. Pippa had taken the bones of the tree house and, with a few personal touches, turned it into a fairy land of infinite possibilities for a young girl’s imagination. And wasn’t that true for him too? Hadn’t she swept into his life, leaving pieces of herself until she was imbedded in his DNA as well? Before Pippa, he was content with his life. Aspen was all he needed. But now . . . Pippa made him want more, and for the first time in his life, he believed it was possible.

“What do you think?” Pippa asked.

Mason sat against the wall, pulling Pippa against his chest. He kissed her forehead, rubbing his hand up and down her arm. His chest squeezed tight and his eyes burned. “I think . . . Beauty, I just might keep you forever.”
