Blade focused on her. “You could. You can go through the legal system and submit to the process of being photographed and give your statement, hire lawyers. Or . . . you let us handle it. And I promise you, he’ll never bother anyone ever again. And we’ll take down the whole compound you spoke about in exchange for your silence. We’ll get the FBI what they need to dismantle the entire thing and bring all those motherfuckers to justice.”

“He has a cousin in the FBI,” she warned.

Blade nodded. “We’ll keep that in mind when we take out the trash.”

“Are you going to kill him?” Brynn asked.

Blade’s expression was unreadable. “Don’t ask me questions you don’t want to know the answer to. The less you know, the better.”

Brynn wavered on her feet, casting a glance towards Paul. “For Brynna.”

Blade didn’t even bat an eye at Brynn’s words. Does he know more about Brynn than I thought?

Blade waved his hand and his men hog-tied Paul, stuffing his mouth and duct-taping it to muffle his screams.

Brynn turned to Aaron. “Am I a horrible person for saying yes to this and not feeling guilty?”

Aaron shook his head. “No, sunshine. You’re human.” He focused on the men piling into their cars and tossing Paul into the trunk. Blade pulled out his phone and walked towards the crashed Mercedes. Sometimes justice was bloody and outside the law. But Aaron was a big believer that the punishment should fit the crime—especially when it came to people who preyed on children and women.

Brynn melted into his arms, and he held her close, savoring the moment as long as it lasted. Because any moment now, Brynn would send him away again. And it just might kill him this time.
