Mikel handed the microphone off to Pippa. She smiled, and Lady sat by her side.

“I’ve known Brynn for a few years now. We work together and we’ve become friends. She likes to keep to herself, so a lot of you may not know her as well as you’d like. But she is one amazing strong woman.” Pippa and Brynn shared a look as Brynn’s eyes teared up.

“I know Aaron through the lifesaving work of the Hope Facility. And let me tell you, I couldn’t have picked a better match for Brynn.” Pippa raised her glass. “To Brynn and Aaron, may your marriage be all that you hope and more.”

Tinkling of glasses followed the collective cheer.

Brynn turned to him. “Why are they doing that?”

Had she never been to a wedding before? “They want us to kiss.”

Her eyes dropped to his lips as she licked her own.

He leaned in. “Ready?”

“Okay.”

His lips danced over hers, slow and reverent. He took his time before parting his mouth and tracing the seam of hers with his tongue. She opened for him. Lust fire rushed through his veins, as if they were filled with gasoline. Her sweet floral scent wafted over him as her taste enveloped him in a cascading avalanche of sensations, a low growl rumbling in his chest. Brynn gasped and pulled away, her eyes wide. Cheers and clapping came back into focus.

Aaron pressed his palms onto his legs and let out a deep breath. He needed to get his body in check and remember this wasn’t real. This was for show. And this might be his wedding night, but they would not be consummating it. This is just pretend—all to help Dani. His gaze caught on his bride, his stomach flipping. Why does it feel so real with Brynn?
