Brynn swiped the tears that dripped from her eyes. “Thank you, Belle.”

“I’m here anytime you need me. You have my number; don’t be afraid to use it.” She winked and pulled Brynn into a hug.

Brynn was overwhelmed with everything. She had so much to process. But Belle was right. Brynn wouldn’t let Paul or her family steal her future. And it was time she took a risk for her.

Walking out of the building, she squinted at the sunlight. She probably looked a mess, but she didn’t have it in her to care.

She made her way down the salted steps of the office building to where Aaron’s SUV was parked by a tree right in front. It was the little things like this that he did for her, like pulling up so she didn’t need to stay in the cold longer than needed. Or that he kept the heat on hotter than he liked, judging by the fine mist of perspiration below his hairline. Or how he’d asked or warned her when he was about to kiss her so she could make the choice.

She couldn’t have asked for a better man. He was almost too good to be true. And that didn’t scare her as much as it used to because her intuition told her Aaron was worth the risk.

He climbed out of the car and headed to her side to open the door like he usually did, his smile fading as she got closer, worry pinching his expression tight.

Right now, despite everything, she needed to feel safe. “I—”

He wrapped his strong arms around her without letting her finish, as if he read her mind. Aaron pulled her close, shutting out the rest of the world for this one perfect moment where everything made sense, and she was cared for.

I don’t think I deserve you, but I’m falling in love with you anyways.
