Cadence glanced up at Porter. “I think West and Eva need our help, honey. What do you say we get West back for everything that he’s ever done to us?”

“My dear…” He kissed her nose, then her lips. “Youarea Slade. I was thinking the same thing.”

Cole walked into the barn and let out a very unmanly shriek. He stormed out carrying the bridal skull and chucked it at a snickering Porter.

“Whoa.” Porter shielded Cadence from the flying skull, and took the full impact of the flimsy plastic that bounced against his back.

“You totally deserved that,” Cole said with a level look. He disappeared back into the barn.

Cadence couldn’t help her giggles then. She kissed Porter on the cheek. “Youreallydid.”

A dimple appeared under her lips. “You’re probably right.”

One thing was certain, marrying Porter never made for a dull moment. Of all the times that Cadence wished to have a normal life, she’d never thought how wonderful “abnormal” could be. Nothing was as she had imagined, and yet it was perfect in every way.

She jumped into Porter’s truck and braced for another exciting adventure.
