“Red, are you ready to head out?” Talon asks me, walking in his room.
“Yeah. I just need to get my purse and I’ll be ready,” I answer him as he pulls me into his arms and presses a kiss against my lips.
It’s sweet and unhurried as if we have all the time in the world. This is a side of the man no one else gets to see. Maybe the ol’ ladies and Lash’s mom, but that’s it. Everyone else gets to see the asshole, Vice President who doesn’t take any shit from anyone. I love these moments when I get a glimpse of who he is.
“Is Judge still here?” I ask him, not sure if his older brother left already or not.
“Yeah. He’s headin’ back tonight.”
“Oh. Maybe we could have dinner or something with your brothers and grandpa before he leaves,” I tell him, knowing he wants me to have a good relationship with his family.
“I love you, Red. You know that, yeah?”
“Yeah. I love you too.”
With one more kiss pressed against my lips, he lets me go so I can get my purse before we head out for the appointment. Hopefully everything is okay because I don’t want to be put on bed rest. However, if my blood pressure is still a concern, my doctor has already told me it’s going to be a possibility. Talon always listens to her, and I know he won’t let me up for any reason other than to go to the bathroom. It will suck ass even if I get why I have to be careful and take the doctor’s words to heart. I don’t want anything to happen to our baby.
We’ve been at the doctor’s office for a while now. Just waiting for the doctor to get back here. She had an emergency and we’re all waiting for her to get back. Talon and Sabotage sit patiently in the waiting room with me while Judge paces the floor and flirts with the expectant mothers as they blush at him and try to make it look as if they aren’t staring at the larger than life person he is. Even the secretary is staring at him. Personally I think he looks like a caged animal with the way he’s pacing back and forth across the room. I’m glad he’s here with us though.
For my appointment he won’t be allowed in the room, but when it’s time for the ultrasound Judge will have his brother’s back. He’ll be the first one to see his niece or nephew. I’m glad we can share this experience with him too. From what little I’ve heard from him, he doesn’t want kids of his own because of the life he leads. Personally, I feel most of the guys in the club feel the same way. They don’t want something to happen to their child, or children, because a rival feels that’s the best way to get to them. It scares me to know my son or daughter will be a target just because of who their dad is, but I love the man and I know he’ll do whatever it takes to protect us with his life. Every single member of the club will.
“The doctor will be here in a few minutes,” the secretary finally informs us all. “Bronwan, the nurse will be out to get you in a minute so you’re back in the exam room when she gets here.”
“Okay. Thank you,” I tell her even though she’s already gone back to whatever she’s doing at her desk while watching the guys with me.
I might be with Talon, and she’s definitely been looking at him, but she has no clue if the other two men in the waiting room are with me or not. There is absolutely no reason for her to be staring at them. She has no clue what she’d be getting herself into by having even a night with Sabotage or Judge. Not that I do either, but the point is these men are here with a woman and it’s not her job to stare like a thirsty bitch at them.
“What’s goin’ through your mind, Red?” Talon asks as we continue to sit in our chairs.
“That secretary is just a little too concerned with you three instead of doing her job,” I answer him honestly.
Sabotage starts laughing his ass off at my response while Judge turns to look at me with a raised eyebrow.
“You jealous little Red?” Judge questions me with a smirk on his face.
“Not at all. I’ve got Talon. But, she doesn’t know if I was with all three of you and she needs to focus on her damn job and not the men filling the waiting room here.”
“All three of us?” Sabotage asks, a smirk now appearing on his face. “What the hell have you been readin’ Red?”
“Reverse harem books.”
“What’s that?” Talon asks me as he leans in closer.
“One girl with more than one man.”
My response not only stops Judge from pacing the waiting room, but they all fall silent and stare at me with wide eyes. The heat filling me lets me know I’m blushing from their stares.
“Fuck,” Sabotage mutters as the door opens and a nurse pokes her head out.
“Bronwan,” she calls out as I stand from my seat with Judge and Talon following me to her. “Um, only one of them can go in the exam room with you.”
Her voice is snarky as I look at her.
“If I want them both in there, they’ll both be in there.”
“Relax baby girl. He’s not goin’ in the exam room. My brother will be back here for the ultrasound and that’s it,” Talon states, his voice going hard leaving her no room to argue with him.
“Since you’re having an ultrasound today, I can’t let you go to the bathroom before your appointment with the doctor. Before you leave you’ll have to leave a sample so we can make sure everything looks good. I see in your chart, your blood pressure has been elevated?” the nurse says.
