“Yeah.” Luna’s head tips back, her eyes heavy lidded. “Yeah, you’re right. Bunch of show-offs.” And now we’re just talking shit to each other, barely paying attention to our words, too busy grasping and rocking; kissing and nibbling. Fuck, I could eat her in three bites.

It’s everything I’ve been dying to do since I met her yesterday. Everything I’ve been craving in the depths of my soul.

“You’re coming home with me after this. Back to my cabin.”

Luna’s mouth curves. “Yeah, I am.”

“Then you’re going to marry me.”

She blinks, her pale eyes so close. “I am?”

I nod, trying not to act like a man suddenly finding himself on shaky ground. She’s as far gone as I am, right? I’m not making a prick of myself? “Yeah, you are. So long as you want to, obviously. I mean, you came here to marry a mountain man, right? And there’s one right here offering, one that you like enough to kiss, so—”

Luna flings herself against my chest, her arms so tight around my neck I can hardly breathe. Don’t care. Who needs air?

“Oh, I like you plenty more than kissing, mister.” Teeth graze my earlobe, and I crush her closer. So lucky. How did I get so lucky? “Maybe I should show you.”

Before I register what’s happening, Luna’s sitting back and slender fingers tug at my belt. I blink down at them in a daze. “I’ve never done this before either,” she says casually, like she’s not short-circuiting my brain, “but I get the impression that it’s beginner friendly.”

Uh.

I flatten my hand over hers, pinning her fingers in place. “We’re not—that’s not gonna be the first thing we do, Luna.”

She harrumphs, and then we’re staring at each other with matching scowls. “Why not?”

Because I want tokeepher, damn it. I want her spoiled and cherished; want her ruined for all other men. Want her to know after this, all the way down to the marrow of her bones, that she’sitfor me. A blow job ain’t the way.

“Climb off for a second.”

From her loud complaints, you’d think I was the worst villain in the world—but she shuffles to one side, flopping down onto the passenger seat. I shove my truck door open, and the flood of cold, pine-fresh air against my hot cheeks has never been more welcome. I shake my head as I round the truck.

Need to think straight. Need to do this right.

Luna’s arms are folded when I tug her door open. I stifle a smile. “Spin around, okay? Let your legs dangle out of the truck.”

“Sobossy.”

She does it, though. And when I step closer, nudging between her knees, her arms wrap around my neck in welcome.

I missed her. In the ten steps it took to round the truck, Imissedher.

I am so far gone.

“I want to show you something,” I say as she trails kisses down my neck, each press of her lips sending sparks across my skin. She nods, silvery hair tickling where it’s already creeping down my collar.

“Is this a mountain man thing? Are you gonna show me how to chop wood and track an elk?”

“No.” My hands spread over her thighs, gripping tight. Letting an ounce of the possessiveness I feel bleed through. “I’m going to show you what I’ve wanted to do to you since the first second I saw you on my deck. The very first second.”

Luna gasps as I spread her legs wider. “But I… you… youhatedme.”

Oh, really?

My palms slide up her thighs, nice and slow. Mapping her, feelingher, until my knuckles dip under the rumpled hem of her dress and my thumbs meet on the seam of her leggings, pressing against her there.

She’s hot. Hot and damp and needy, her readiness obvious even through the fabric.

“I never hated you, Luna.” How could she ever think that? “I wanted you so badly it pissed me off.”
