His brows puckered, confusion flitting across his features.

Yeah, it sounded like a dumb present.

“Tomorrow it will be only one week until the party. That’s a long time to keep lying to Gabby. I hate it. I really hate it, Mia.”

She scooted closer, brushing her hand across his cheek. His eyes closed at the tender gesture.

“I hate it, too. I can’t explain why I wanted to keep it from her in the beginning, but it’ll be a fun surprise at the party. Plus,” she giggled, very nervously, “I think she’ll be less upset at us if we tell her at the most epic party ever that we plan to throw them.”

His eyes finally lit up with a bit of humor. “This is very true. I can see the damage being less severe. I still hate it.”

“Please. I know it’s asking a lot, but give me this one thing.”

Jaxson leaned in and kissed her lips softly. “I’ll give you the world if you’d just let me, Mia.”

Her heart skipped a beat at his loving words. Without needing words, they both moved their plates and suddenly she was in his warm arms with his lips expressing how much he loved her.

She might have moments of panic, but Jaxson was showing her that happiness was possible. If only she gave it a chance.

“Do you have to go to work?” Jaxson snuggled Mia closer, pressing light kisses to her neck, hating how much he was going to miss her.

Hell, it would only be a few hours. He’d be meeting up with her for lunch.

“I should’ve never left early on Wednesday. I have a few things I need to do, and then I’m all yours.”

Oh, he loved the sound of that.

Forever and ever. She would be all his.

“Okay, so we’ll meet at Franchettis’ for lunch, and then we’ll head to the party store once more. You have to make up your mind this time. The party is next Saturday.”

She squeezed him tighter, wrinkling her nose in the cutest way, then kissed him on the lips. Damn, he wanted more of that.

Lots more.

“And you have a lot of phone calls to make to invite everyone. Remember that it’s important they keep it a secret that it's a party for Dane and Gabby.”

“I know. I know. I got this.”

Maybe.

Calling tons of people sounded boring as hell. But Mia didn’t want Gabby or Dane to see any sort of messages on social media about the party. She thought it would be better if they contacted each person directly for an invite. Instead of sending a mass text or something. Whatever his Mia wanted, she got. He was wrapped around her little finger and he had no qualms admitting it.

Brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, she smiled at him. One that reached her eyes and said he had done his job this morning. Very well. Not only had he touched every inch of her delicate body last night, but he had also worshiped her from head to toe this morning.

And he wanted to do it again.

Because she was the most beautiful woman on the planet.

Because she was his and he still couldn’t believe it.

Because he loved her so damn much and wanted her to know every second of every single day how much.

“You shouldn’t look at me like that.” She bit her bottom lip as a coy smile appeared.

“Like what?” His own wicked smile emerged. “Like I could take you right here, right now against the front door.”
