“It’s been a day. I could go for a beer. Happy hour is going on.”

She giggled. “You own the bar.”

He grinned. “Which is why I know happy hour is going on.”

“You’re right. It has been a day. A drink sounds nice. Do you mind if I text Mia to join us?”

“Not at all.”

Right now, being surrounded by friends after the shitty day he had sounded like the best idea ever.

Friends always made things seem better.
