Well, he wouldn’t say the words again out loud, but he knew it would take him a while to forget repeating them in his mind. Because he would always be sorry he failed his brother in such a way.

He parked the truck and they made their way in the bar through the back entrance. He didn’t bother going upstairs as Jezebelle had texted him she was having a drink with Bradley. The text had bothered him, especially since he wondered how Bradley had known she’d be alone. It felt like too perfect of timing. But he trusted Jezebelle. That asshole could try anything under the sun, but at the end of the day, she was his.

“Can’t wait to meet Jezebelle. You sure she’s not pissed about the ring?”

Brick clapped Corey on the shoulder, grinning. “I promise. I’m sure she’ll tell you herself she doesn’t mind.”

He scanned the bar, not seeing Jezebelle or Bradley. Perhaps he left and she was upstairs. He’d look everywhere first before heading to the apartment.

They walked through the threshold of the back area. Brick halted, staring in disbelief.

Jezebelle stood with Bradley in the corner of the room, his arms around her and his lips on hers.

Corey’s hand to his shoulder was the only thing that kept him grounded and not moving like the devil was on his tail. He could feel the blood pulsing through his veins and the murder in his eyes. He wanted to pulverize Bradley until he was nothing but dust.

And his sweet Jezebelle…

He would’ve never believed it if his eyes hadn’t witnessed it.

Apparently, money could buy love.

And he never had a chance.
