“Yo, my brother told you to leave. Best get at it.” Corey didn’t move a muscle, but by the ticking in his cheek, he was barely holding himself back.
Bradley looked at Corey, then at him, and finally at Jezebelle. “I’m not leaving until I have a word with you alone.”
Brick heard her inhale of breath as if wanting to give in to Bradley’s demands, despite just telling him to leave. He squeezed her hand, willing her to be quiet, to not give in.
Gabby’s chair scraped against the floor as she stood. “You should leave. You’re not welcome here.”
“I wasn’t speaking to you,” Bradley snapped.
By the way Gabby cocked a brow and put a hand to her hip, Brick knew shit was real close to hitting the fan. People did not talk to Gabriella Stileano that way.
Mia’s chair rattled as she stood up. “Well, we’re speaking to you and telling you to get the hell out.”
Brick couldn’t hide the chuckle. He had never heard Mia sound so fierce and deadly. Quiet and subdued was more her style. But damn, he liked seeing this side of her. Sticking up for her friends. He wasn’t surprised about that at all.
“You owe a quarter,” Gabby said with a smile, “but nicely said. You heard her.”
“And you heard me. I’m not afraid of you people.” Bradley took two steps toward the women and didn’t get any farther when Corey finally made his move and grabbed Bradley’s arm.
“Let me escort you out.”
“Get off me.” Bradley twisted and shoved out of his hands.
Corey didn’t have time to duck the fist coming his way. Honestly, Brick was surprised as hell Bradley took a swing. Mr. High and Mighty in his fancy suits and money hanging out of his pockets didn’t seem like the type to lose his cool.
And his brother wasn’t one to back down from a fight.
Corey managed to stay on his feet and returned a punch, hitting Bradley square in the face. All hell broke out.
Brick took a quick look at Jezebelle, his wife, and then jumped in the fray to help his brother.
They’d show Bradley who he was messing with.
