“I’ll be working with Swede. Anything we find, we’ll send your way ASAP.”

“I’ll send one of my guys to talk to the bride’s folks about her murder,” Jake said.

“Keep a tight rein on Ms. West,” Hank said. “If he’s set on a day after the engagement, that means he’ll make his move today. Out here.”

Hank’s image disappeared.

Thorn rose from his seat and stretched. “I’m going to get a cup of coffee and see if I can help with breakfast.”

“I’m going to check on Rachel.”

“You won’t have to go far,” a feminine voice said from across the long room.

Griff turned to find Rachel dressed in jeans, a white T-shirt and a denim jacket. She’d pulled her hair up into a messy bun on top of her head. Her cheeks were flushed a light pink, and her lips were slightly swollen from being kissed so much the night before. The woman didn’t need makeup. She had a natural beauty that filled his heart.

Griff’s heart swelled as he joined her on the stairs. He wanted to kiss her good morning, but not in front of the others. “Did you sleep well?”

She nodded. “No nightmares. I promised Gunny I’d set the table in the dining room. Wanna help?”

“Of course.” Griff followed her up the stairs to the kitchen.

Gunny had two skillets going of scrambled eggs and another with sausage.

JoJo buttered toast while RJ stirred a pot of sausage gravy.

“Someone grab the biscuits from the lower oven and toss them in that basket,” Gunny said.

Griff snagged a couple of oven mitts and rescued a tray of fluffy biscuits from the lower oven.

“While you put those in the basket, I’ll go set the table.” Rachel leaned over his shoulder, her breast brushing against him. “Mmm. Those smell good.”

His groin tightened. “Do you know what you’re doing to me, woman?” he whispered.

“I can guess.” Rachel left the kitchen, chuckling.

Jake and Thorn came up from the basement. “What can we help with?” Thorn asked.

“You can carry the pitchers of juices and milk to the buffet,” RJ said as she poured the sausage gravy into a tureen.

Griff only burned his fingers twice, transferring the biscuits from the baking tray to the basket. He carried them into the dining room and set them on the buffet.

He helped Rachel lay out place settings on the big table and the smaller guest tables.

Guests wandered in and helped themselves to coffee and orange juice.

RJ, JoJo and Gunny marched out of the kitchen with the main courses and arranged them on the buffet.

“Eat up,” Gunny said.

The lodge staff, including the Brotherhood Protectors, stood back until the guests had served themselves.

Once everyone had a plate, they returned to their tables.

Breakfast was good. Griff went back for seconds of the biscuits and gravy.

“We have a long, busy day at the ranch today,” Gunny said. “If you aren’t otherwise employed, we could use all the help we can get. Especially tonight at the Watering Hole.”

“What’s going on?” Griff asked.
