Correction…

She hadn’t met anyone who inspired thoughts of matrimony and progeny…

Until now.

She could picture a little boy or girl with sandy-blond hair and sky-blue eyes like Grimm.

The fresh scent of baby shampoo filled her senses, tugging at her heart and belly.

McClain patted her cheek again.

Still caught in Grimm’s gaze, Dezi pressed another kiss to the baby’s fist, making him giggle.

What would it be like to carry a child inside her? Would she make a good mother? She liked how McClain felt in her arms and how he clung to her and giggled when she kissed him.

Grimm’s lips turned up on the corners. “You’re a natural,” he said softly.

“He’s adorable,” Dezi said and pressed a kiss to the baby’s round cheek. Something about the way he felt and smelled made her want to cuddle and kiss him even more.

Holy hell. She could feel herself catching the baby bug she’d heard some of her friends discuss while they’d been in school, putting their lives on hold until they’d completed training.

The baby bug had been something she hadn’t understood until now. Holding McClain had set her hormones hopping and made her womb ache with the need to fill it with a baby.

Grimm held out his hands. “May I?”

McClain looked from Dezi to Grimm and back. Then the boy reached his arms up to Grimm.

“Hey, big guy. Miss me?”

McClain bounced in Grimm’s arms and waved his hands in the air.

“You want to fly?” Grimm asked.

The baby bounced again and jabbered in baby talk.

“I’ll take that as a yes.” Grimm tossed the baby in the air, high enough to make McClain laugh out loud but not so high that he left Grimm’s hands for long.

He caught him easily, laughing with the giggling baby. They repeated the game two more times before Hank came up behind them.

“Here, let me take him. He’s probably ready for his dinner.”

Grimm handed over the baby, chucking him beneath the chin. “He’s a great kid. You’re lucky to have such a wonderful family.”

Hank nodded. “I know. I wouldn’t trade Sadie, Emma and McClain for anything. They are everything to me.”

The love was evident in the way Hank looked at his wife and children and the way he spoke of them.

Dezi envied Sadie. Not for her fame and fortune, but for the love of a good man who would do anything for her.

Grimm held out his hand. “Ready to go?”

She took his hand, loving how connected it made her feel.

The man didn’t believe he’d be a good husband and father.

Just by the way he held her hand and used his body to shield hers, she knew he would protect his woman and children with his life. He would make a good father and husband.

If he gave himself half a chance.
