Neo protected me. Jayce helped save some of the employees. The woman who gave me the flowers died. Saint was called to do something. How would Dimitris react? Viktor had to shift into his wolf. Who was the man in the white cape? A gift from Germany...a warning.

There were far too many questions for me to ask, but I knew one thing for sure as I finally slipped into unconsciousness.

The war has just begun, and we're already behind.

Heated Rage In The Ring And Don’t Fuck With Us

~WILLOW~

I was doinga final check of the place I was shot at. The phantom pain was still present but the skin and wound itself had all healed up thanks to Aurelia's scar relieving cream and Saint's apparent holy hands.

Yesterday's blast left me in an odd mindset, enough for me to keep to myself from the moment I woke up. I kept everyone away, including Onyx, who was probably seething at my distance.

He read me better than I did myself, which was why I was here, in the locker room, preparing for the round of cage fights in the underground. It'd been a while since I'd been here. A few bidders were pleased to see me back and ready for some action.

Apparently, I wasn't the only one who hadn't been coming to fight as of late: Onyx, too, had been taking a brief break from the ring.

If it wasn't for what had occurred and the agonizing tension and nervousness I'd bottled up for weeks before this unexpected incident, I would have easily taken advantage of this recovery moment and rested like the doctor ordered.

Instead, the anxiety fought to cripple me. To bring me to that dark place deep within myself that smiled in irony -waiting for the opportunity to strike the surface and destroy everyone...everything...I cherished.

The attack was considered a plot to hurt Roberto, or at least that was what the police assumed as they continued their investigation. Roberto wasn't scheduled to work yesterday, something about having a meeting about stocks with his investors.

The bomb had cut that discussion short, and from what I overheard Viktor mumbling about, the meeting was postponed. We all knew what that meant.

They're reconsidering their investment options.

We knew that this had to be in connection to Roberto selling me to the three packs that were now wishing to either kill me or put Roberto in a stressful enough position to hand me over.

They didn't realize I was already taken, already sealing my fate with four men who should have been considered my enemies. I wasn't sure what their true intentions were. It was again my fault for leaping to conclusions based on my impatience and the desire to make Roberto squirm in anger, but what was the end game?

What are they after when it comes to me?

As curious as I was to learn more about them at least, it was on the back seat of my mind. I knew I had to discover their strengths and weaknesses. That I should gather as much information as I could on them so I could use it to protect myself because that was what you did when you were practically dancing with your enemy.

Yet, I can't push myself to fake it.

The idea was so simple, just like how I’d turned myself into a guy and faked my male dominance for all these years. Faking and spinning them around my finger should be child's play, but I didn't even want to try it.

Enemies. They're my enemies. We can't be friends. We can't be...lovers. We will always despise one another. Even if such hate isn't as strong as it should be from my side. Do they hate me as they should? When will they grasp the opportunity to toss me to their competitors as bait and reap their rewards?

With a sigh, I shook my head, feeling a headache coming on. I was still hot as fuck temperature-wise, but if I didn't get this excess nervous energy out, we'd all be dealing with a problem.

I always got a little hotter when I was supposed to have my period. That shit had stopped ages ago but my body still grew hot as hell during that time of the month. It normally didn't bother me, but yesterday and today were a clear exception. It could have been due to having a fever yesterday before the blast and those after-effects.

Thankfully, Neo was safe with only a few scratches from catching me from falling to my death. Jayce was uninjured from what I gathered, though Saint laughed, saying he heals faster than a fucking angel.

Whatever that means.

I didn't know Saint had some sort of healing magic ability or magic in general, so my wound was healed shortly after they brought me into one of the best hospitals for the wealthy.

Aurelia had heard about the blast, like half of the world, and was there in no time. She applied the special herbal magic cream she created to remove scars. If only she'd perfected it when we were younger. I would have avoided all the scars I had.

Not like I was ashamed of them.

Deciding to tie up my hair, I began to pull it into a ponytail as I returned to my locker. Opening it with one hand, I paused in my motion of getting a hair tie to see the gorgeous black rose with pink and purple sparkling petals.

It was a single rose with a bubblegum pink ribbon that was tied at the stem with a little note. Letting go of my hair, I reached for the single piece of beauty, taking a deep inhale and closing my eyes as I enjoyed the aroma that tugged at my emotions.
