I don’t think any of us thought of Willow coming into the picture. William by day, Willow by night. She was a woman balancing both worlds of the gender spectrum to gain the knowledge and business growth she needed during the day while balancing her passion for the ring and all other things at night.

We were finally getting to know bits about her, but then she began to get targeted, probably even before our arrival, but with tensions high because of this exclusive deal that had billions on the line, people were surely getting desperate.

As much as I'd love to blame Roberto for this, I truly didn't think it was him. We'd brought our dirty laundry along for the trip from Cali to NYC and now we were paying the consequences.

By watching our Sweet Flower enduring something that now seemed un-survivable.

The truck entering the waters shortly after was what cued Dimitris to go full-on connections mode. He made phone calls so quickly, I didn't think it was possible.

Jayce requested Onyx's laptop too and was on and changing it into a hacking central until the events that were unfolding were popping up on his screens at every angle as police cars, firetrucks, and helicopters approached the scene and tried to defer traffic to get to the spot quickly.

The news reporters were flabbergasted about what was happening, but we already knew this attack was clearly planned - some of the angled replays showed bullets riddling the metal body of the car.

Jayce was getting all the footage now, downloading it from multiple sources because we knew without a doubt that within a few minutes, it would all be gone.

Covered up.

I felt useless standing here, unable to contribute my skills in this tense situation. There was no way we could just teleport there without bringing attention to ourselves -attention Elizabeth is waiting to witness so she can confirm that Willow is far more important to us than we'd like to grasp.

She was clearly sitting somewhere, observing everything on a big screen and waiting for us to call her. To inform her we knew what the fuck she'd just done and that she wouldn't get away with it.

She was predictable. An individual who begged for attention, no matter if it was positive or negative. We weren't going to feed her, but that all depended on if Willow was okay.

If she wasn't...I didn’t know what we'd do.

My eyes drifted to Neo, and I was a little thankful he was wearing his shades or else I wasn’t sure what lethal expression would be upon his face.

The dark, heavy gaze of revenge that thrums through his orbs of magic.

It was never a good sign when Neo was silent in a tense situation like this. It meant he was fighting for control. Attempting to keep himself from self-destructing and going on a murderous spree of bloody justice.

Neo was the quiet type. Not one for words, especially since his vision was stolen from him. Painting was his coping mechanism. A way to lay all those bottled feelings onto the blank canvas.

A canvas created with special magic properties that lit up in his world of darkness.

When he first mentioned Willow's appearance, it left us all shocked because he'd never been able to truly see a woman's appearance.

He read everyone's auras, and he knew us by appearance because we'd been together for a shit load of time, but the fact that he was able to witness Willow in color, from her pink silky threads to the tattoo that laid upon her slightly tanned skin, made us realize she could be someone special to him.

Not to forget that his gift didn't kill her, and he used it on full blast.

She hadn't been given enough time to be around us, and yet she'd already laid seeds in each of us, and it was becoming noticeably clear that she'd either make us stronger or be the death of us all.

The hardest part of this was feeling the bubbling emotions flickering into the wolf bond from Onyx.

His anger was obvious on his face, the hard lines etched into his expression as he stared at the screen in anticipation.

Waiting to see his Sugar come out to the surface.

His anxiety was almost crippling when it came rushing in and got muted a second later. Dimitris was fighting to keep Onyx's emotions within their connection and not letting it leak into ours, but he was struggling to juggle all these different things at once; demanding for different visuals of the scene before getting our own hired cops and investigators down there.

I decided to text her, as if that would solve anything, my hands shaking because they were struggling to remain still despite my own bubbling nervousness.

We hadn't lost someone impactful in our lives for a while, and the last time had almost killed Dimitris. Since then, since we’d cut Elizabeth off from our lives, we’ve had no one come into our lives, pack, or proximities that made a dent in us.

We were the Forbidden, the name alone shooing away everyone who dared wish to come close, for forbidden anything in this world carried consequences, and you'd be a foolish individual to dive into our net.

Like what Willow somehow managed to do flawlessly.
