She walked over to the sink to wash her hands and seemed to walk right into Onyx's room, leaving us to stand there in silence. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next, but she was back two minutes later, wearing baggy sweat pants and a top that definitely smelled like Onyx.

She had one of those large knitted blankets with her, and she sat comfortably in one of his living room chairs where she laid the blanket upon herself and nestled into the chair.

"You could turn the news off now," she encouraged, and we all seemed to look for where Onyx must have thrown the remote.

"I hate fucking remotes," Onyx muttered as we were all trying to find it. Eventually Neo was the one who found the damn thing and switched it off. Jayce decided to be the brave one to try and spark a conversation with Willow.

"Willow. Are you..." He trailed off, and I didn’t blame him, because our sweet flower was knocked right out, her eyes closed and her breathing as slow as ever.

I was somehow already next to her, where she was curled up in the chair, my hand on her forehead first before I noticed that she was still freezing.

"Could you warm up the temperature?" I encouraged, and Onyx was already at the thermostat, increasing the temperature by dialing it up with the rotating knob. Someone's phone was vibrating, and Onyx went to the island and picked his phone up.

"Hey. Ya. She's here. How the fuck did you get there on time? Yes, I'm aware of those magic barrier shits, which means you did something illegal," he huffed quietly. The higher pitch of laughter was loud enough for me to pick up on the familiarity of it.

Aurelia?

"She took her shot. Ya, I know. One in another two hours and a third in four hours. Yeah, I have some spares here. She's staying here tonight. Viktor is aiding with the investigation, but he'll most likely stay at her place to make sure it's safe. No. No. No. She didn't. She's okay. Ya...ya it was white..." He trailed off, looking conflicted as fuck while his eyes were on Willow.

Observing her. Taking in every detail. Making sure he could reserve and engrave the image in his mind for the time he takes vengeance on all those who plotted this shit. Just like us.

"I'll talk to them about it and warn them about the moods and instability. Ya. We'll handle the news speculations after. Get some rest. You're probably drained. Ya...ya. I know you'd do anything for her." He paused before he muttered, "Thanks, Aurelia."

When he hung up, he let out a long sigh before he walked over to where I stood. I moved out of the way to stand next to the others. We observed him as he crouched down and inspected Willow himself, his hand gently reaching to stroke her cheek as she continued to sleep.

"You're okay, Sugar," he whispered, as if she could hear it in her dreams. "You're safe. You did so fucking good. You're a survivor. You've always been one."

The way he said it had an intense longing to it, and I was unsure why he sounded like he was about to lose her.

"Onyx," Dimitris tenderly whispered, and I could only wonder what type of whirlwind of emotions he was enduring within.

"Can we talk in the other room?" Onyx questioned as he rose up and looked back at us. "It's important."

We all nodded, but none of us seemed to want to move from our place.

There was a knock on the door, and it opened to reveal Viktor in all black. Onyx frowned as he muttered "Why is everyone able to open my door as if I don’t lock it?"

"Because these building locks are shit," Viktor replied as he closed the door and pressed his hand against it while triggering a spell that not only locked it but seemed to cloak the entire room with some sort of magic energy field.

I raised an eyebrow at him in question as he noticed my gaze. "You should take classes from Aurelia. She'd teach you how to make some badass magical locks. Then no one would be able to get into any of your homes," he offered and walked over to where Willow was sound asleep.

"What about the investigation?" I asked.

"FBI and CIA are on the scene. Already made four arrests. Three are dead on scene."

Shit. It got messy.

"How many potential culprits?" Dimitris inquired.

"More than ten. Still haven't figured out who the culprit is, but I'm sure more than one of you have your guess."

My face was stern like the others, all of us carrying a hint of bitterness that washed over us with anger at the fact that Elizabeth had decided to get her hands into our affairs.

We let her off the hook once. It looks like we'll have to pay her a visit and show her why California trembles at the mention of our name.

"Looks like I came at a good time," Viktor commented. "I can watch her if you guys need to do something."

Onyx nodded at Viktor, which told me he was grateful for his random arrival. Viktor was about to move her, but Jayce asked Onyx, "Didn't you say we shouldn't move her?"
