"Shut up!" I took my time to carefully move the roses away from my computer monitor and once I was logged in, I searched my private database to confirm if this was true. Since I was so into the challenge, I found everything in five minutes and felt like a damn idiot.

"What the flying fuck shit?! Elizabitch was actually a boy?! But she doesn't look it! She's on the plump side which could have been attractive if she didn't wear such tight clothes, but I mean, that can’t mean she's a he."

"He started hormone therapy extremely early, aka during the time when it was illegal, but since he's from a rich family, they snuck him through," Viktor revealed. "However, it looks like when puberty hit and his wolf followed up at sixteen, there was a side effect that made "her" gain weight rapidly. You know it's rather difficult for wolf shifters to keep their weight if they're not bulking up or essentially eating seven meals a day."

"That's true, but damn. Does Dimitris know that?"

"He must have, but I bet there is something that pushed them to date other than interest. From the few photos I was able to retrieve, he didn't seem happy."

"Pictures?!' I leaned into my chair and opened my hand in the “hand it over” gesture. He smirked as a playful glint flickered in his eyes.

"Pay up."

"I'll triple your salary."

"Nah," he rejected. "You pay me handsomely. I don’t need more money."

"New car? House? Vacation? Actually, don’t go on vacation yet. I'm sure my ass will need you at some point seeing as I'm being targeted and shit."

He pouted for a moment, and I quickly added, "It's not your fault I almost died, Viktor.”

“Clearly, they picked the right opportunity to strike. It won't happen again."

"You're too hard on yourself," I pointed out. "Now what's the price for those pictures?"

"Why do I have a feeling you're plotting something?"

"I am." My grin was wide and threatening. "Pretty please?"

"After you secure that deal," he suggested.

"Ugh. Why?" I whined and gave him an annoyed look. "I don’t even have a solid plan of getting on there besides being Willow and dragging the Forbidden Pack along."

"You'll think of something last minute. You always do, unless it's instinctive like back there," he offered, which reminded me of the incident Saint and Jayce pulled.

"Why did they do that?"

"Setting up the chance for Willow to make a debut?"

"I never said I wanted to debut," I grumbled.

"You're acting as if you'd have a choice when they're around."

"Why do you know their behavior better than I?" I muttered in annoyance. He knew I always despised not having more information than him.

"I have more resources than you," he acknowledged the obvious fact.

"That's 'cause you're a wolf," I pointed out. "Ya'll have your own network of information gathering."

"You're not wrong, but you're not missing much," he reasoned, which was just to make me feel better.

"Well, whatever reason they think will make me confess my love for crossdressing better be worth it," I concluded.

"Why did you egg on the idea of you and Neo dating, then?" Viktor offered as he moved closer, so he was standing at my side.

"I...don’t know," I confessed and leaned into my chair further while looking up to the ceiling to view the chandelier. "If you want my honest opinion, it felt as though someone kinda pushed me to say it."

When he didn't answer, I kept my voice low as I added, "Not an external voice, but an impulsive nudge that pushed the words out before my brain could process them. I'm sure I wasn't possessed or anything. It just felt...well, like not an answer I would give instinctively."
