I tried to think, but my vision began to blur, and it was hard to fight the darkness that fought to take me. It wasn't until someone was calling my name that I moved my barely open gaze to try and acknowledge the blurred image.

A glimpse of red immediately gave me Neo vibes, while a glimpse of black told me Onyx was to my left. I couldn’t speak as they shook me, feeling so drained now that help had arrived.

I tried to grasp what they were saying, but the woman who somehow managed to save my life at the brink of despair came to my mind, leaving me curious and completely bewildered as to why she was showing up now.

Ruby Phoenix...who the fuck are you, and what do you mean to my life?

~NEO~

My wolf hadn't ever run sofast. Willow's scent grew stronger and stronger as I took in the familiar forest we'd ventured through just yesterday.

I noticed the surge of black energy that flickered with silver, and the scent of wood hit me.

Onyx?

"She's here."

His command triggered my wolf to pull back, and I ran on my two legs, slowing down until I caught onto the shot of pink magic that was next to the blazing silver-and-black aura. I was frustrated enough to send surges of magic right to my eyes. My black vision filled with energetic lights, becoming as clear as day - the colorful world of vision opening up for me.

My eyes landed on Willow, immediately scanning her body for injuries. She seemed almost half asleep, which made me close the remaining steps between us before I crouched down with Onyx on her other side.

"Willow?" I laid my hand on her shoulder and tried to shake her awake, but she seemed so out of it, and her eyes could barely remain open.

"She needs a shot," Onyx muttered and was about to get up, but my other hand drifted into the inside pocket of my black leather jacket, pulling out the pink case with purple wolf symbols and handing it to him.

"When did you..." he began, but gave up on trying to solve this equation as he returned his attention back to Willow. With a smooth movement, the injection device was ready to go and he stabbed it into her thigh.

She didn't even flinch, but as the serum of magic flowed into her, it seemed to allow her body to relax. She closed her eyes then, and I moved to stop her from falling to the side. That gave me a hint of relief as my temporary vision began to fade away.

She was in nothing but a black sports bra and panties, and I realized the spot she was sitting at was the base of the tree where her clothes from before were.

Onyx followed my gaze, and I was sure he was questioning more shit, but he removed the empty syringe before pushing off the ground to retrieve the clothes.

I laid Willow into my grasp, captivated by her appearance up close. I was taking advantage of being able to see her, but it was the first time I was mentally acknowledging that she was not only a woman but also had a sense of fragility to her.

All this time when I’d seen her through the darkness, she was a fierce beauty with a hint of sweetness. She could carry her own weight, take down anyone who fought to debilitate her and never had to rely on another if it was her choice.

Now she was different, her aura barely visible, cuts and bruises beginning to come to light on her slightly tanned skin. Even when she arrived after that chaotic shit show of a car accident, she thrummed with energy that marked her as a survivor, but now?

In my arms, she was a fragile being that I suddenly wished to protect. To keep her in my grasp and seek vengeance to anyone who dares threaten her fierce force of beauty and grace.

"Is Neo going to go on a killing spree now? I'm asking because he's not responding to me,"Onyx announced.

I was so into my thoughts that I didn’t hear what Onyx said to me, so he resorted to calling me out through the bond.

I'm here.

"Can you give me Willow for two seconds so I can dress her, or is that going to trigger shit? Because I don’t have time to fight you right now."

Your uneasy jealousy is amusing to feel, but I give you bonus points for having control when your wolf is riding up your ass.

"I'd normally say fuck you, but I don’t really give a fuck right now and would rather take Willow home before killing a few people,"Onyx stated.

Accurate.

"Where the fuck are you two, and where’s Willow?!"Dimitris's stern voice came rushing into our minds, leaving me to take one last look at Willow before my vision faded to darkness and I could only see the hint of pink that seemed to create an outline silhouette along her body.

I offered her up to Onyx then, and he worked on dressing Willow while I answered.
