I looked at Dimitris then, noticing his eyes were filled with tears and regret as he finally clued in on what he’d just done. I let him acknowledge me. Acknowledge what he just triggered and accept what was about to happen because of him.
Because of his rejection.
"A rejected nobody. A miscalculation. A bitch who deserves to disappear...for she doesn't belong here...or anywhere."
I watched him shake his head as he tried to get up and say something, but I turned around in a swift movement. The men cried out in agony as the bullets returned to their previous owners, leaving all the men in question on the ground, waiting for death.
The commander was coughing and wheezing already, and I looked over my shoulder to confirm that he had been hit with the same round of bullets he’d sent my way.
"Does it burn you down to the core? It's a nice feeling, isn't it? Feeling death at the corner of every struggled breath you take?" I sang. "Enjoy it for me. That's my gift in return. Don’t worry. I'll make sure they get your words of farewell."
I turned my head the other way to the cube with my men, and my eyes seemed to dart between Neo and Onyx, as if I couldn’t choose who deserved my farewell first. In the end, all I could do was smile, feeling the blood began to pour down my nose and the sides of my mouth.
"I love both of you," I whispered, which seemed unreal because I barely knew Neo, and yet it made so much sense. "I'd die for you. Too bad I couldn't be one of you...but now you know,” I whispered and gave a slight shrug. "I'm not guilty of hurting Jayce," I said as if I needed to let the world know. "But I'm truly a fool."
With that, I snapped my fingers, and they couldn’t revolt as their bodies vanished entirely.
Their destination in the heart of my safe place.
Turning around, I viewed all that was around me and looked up to the sky.
"It's time to give in to the world of desolation. "
I may be a reject, but I won't go down without taking all those bastards with me.

When our bodiesmaterialized into the familiar oasis that was filled with that taunting scent of mixed flowers, everything turned from captured hysteria to absolute chaos.
Guns were pointed at us from different directions, but a voice stalled them.
"Wait!" Viktor shouted. "What the fuck?! Onyx. Why the hell are all of you guys here looking like shit, and where's Willow?"
The reminder of that woman was the key to the tsunami of emotions that dragged through my Alpha senses and left me fighting the brink of insanity I threatened to cross.
I was still beneath Onyx as he pointed at all the other guards. "Out. Now!" he snarled with so much commanding force that they didn’t just shuffle.
They ran like their lives depended on it.
Within three seconds, they were gone, and Saint was moving Jayce out of the way and attending to him while Onyx moved off of me, only to turn me over and punch me in the face.
Like I deserved.
He punched me until I was bloody once again, my healing wounds already open once more as Neo somehow managed to tug me out of his path. It took me a moment of spurting blood and saliva to have enough focus to lift my head and see Viktor had Onyx in his grasp, those enraged eyes of silver staring back at me with so much menace.
He managed to get out of Viktor's grasp - sending Viktor onto his back. He was about to kick my ass yet again, but Neo moved in front of him and his fist stopped inches from Neo’s face.
No one dared to move -or breathe -as they seemed to have a stare-off competition that had Onyx growling like a maniac before he turned away, picked up a bottle of wine, and threw it somewhere into the kitchen where the glass and liquid shattered everywhere.
"Are you done?" Neo inquired, which made Viktor give him an 'are you insane' look while I coughed up more blood and fought to sit up.
"I should fucking kill him," Onyx snarled.
"I agree," Neo admitted, and I glared at him as he turned around and kicked me right in the gut.
"Fuck!" I cursed, and I was back down for the count.
