"Cocky ass, Papa Dearest. Get it right," I corrected. "Bring Dad back."

"One day I'll put you in your place."

"You can do it right here and now for all I care, though I'll make sure to kill your newbie guards and throw them out the window to cause a scene," I declared. "You make me work Mondays, and I'll make sure to make your life a living hell like mine."

That was all I got to say before his eyes shifted from gold to teal blue like mine. I really did hate how we had the same eye color, though Mother was no different and carried the same shade but with bits of pink, like my hair.

He crossed his arms and gave me a look of judgment.

"One day he'll shred you to pieces," he warned, which made me laugh.

"Please. Be my guest. I'd enjoy finally ending my misery. I can't wait to watch from Heaven and take bets with Jesus on who's going to kill you first," I suggested, which caused him to deliver a cold stare.

"What are you warning me about? Viktor's going to be here in five minutes," I announced.

"Stay away from the new pack that is coming this week," he said, getting right to the point.

"You realize telling anyone not to do something gives them a fifty percent boost to actually doing it?" I suggested. "In your case, one-hundred percent because surely my defiant actions would piss you off."

He walked forward, a wave of his controlling energy hitting me at once. That had to be his Alpha power attempting to make me cower down to him, but I continued to sit comfortably in my chair, my bored stare meeting his trifling one. He was probably attempting to plot my murder in his mastermind brain.

"William," he practically growled. "I'm dead serious."

"Why?" I asked and smirked. "Scared they'll kill a human like me?"

"They would easily kidnap you," he scoffed.

Now that had me hollering in laughter until tears were on the brink of rolling down my cheeks. "Hold on," I breathed and slapped my leg. "Did you just say that some new pack in town is going to kidnap little old me? Why? They're going to waltz right into our town, kidnap the only son of Roberto De Luca, and what? Kill me? Torture me? Ask you for ransom?"

I sighed and lowered my leg so I could rise up and basically tower over him. Thankfully the desk was between us or I'm sure he'd try and force me onto my knees with some sort of magic.

"It would take a miracle to kidnap me," I declared like it was a fact. "Also, they would have to take down the plethora of guards and hidden assassins you keep on us twenty-four seven. No outsider comes into new territory and strikes. They wait, analyze, and see how valuable a person is before they strike. Especially if it’s a pack that's making you worry about its stupidity. How big are they?"

"Four."

I actually frowned in pure disappointment and he carried on, "They're an alliance pack with California. Looking to either expand or cause trouble. Either way, they ain't getting near you."

"How do you know?" I suggested. "I got jumped by that new pack last night. They sure got nice and close to me with no issues."

"They were amateurs. I knew that."

"I love how you admit to letting people fall through the cracks to make my life a living hell. Not surprised, but surely noted," I concluded. "Alright. Avoid new pack. Whatever they look like. Why don't you just kick them out?"

"They’d start a pack war if I got rid of them without reasoning."

"Fun." I pulled open the top drawer to retrieve my wallet, spare key, and LV card holder for my special entry cards. Sliding them into my pockets, I picked up my coat and moved around the desk to head to the door.

"We're not done," Roberto declared and the two guards moved right up to me before one decided to make a move just as my doors opened. I merely tossed the jacket forward before my elbow was connecting with his nose, a loud cracking sound making him grunt in agony before I lifted my leg. My foot connected with his abdomen and sent him flying into one of the black chairs I set up near the doors for unexpected meetings.

The other guard didn't have a chance as I spun on my balancing leg, the lifted foot I'd used to send his pal flying connecting with his face as I performed a high kick. He didn't even hit the ground before I had his gun in my hand and was unloading it. The ammunition fell onto the floor before I tossed the useless weapon to the side.

They were groaning loudly, which made me grin proudly as I lifted my head to see Viktor at the door with my coat ready to be worn.

"Sorry I'm late," he greeted. "Had to deal with a last minute errand."

"You're forgiven," I declared while he took the chance to look at the guard slouched in the chair, clearly unconscious.

Poor guy. He ain't waking up.
