Just Another Day And Forbidden Introductions

~WILLIAM~

"Figure outhow the fuck these children are ruining my connections this instant!"

The slam of a fist against the exquisite oak had multiple guards scrambling to the door, leaving me to continue enjoying my second cup of coffee today.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes should be served all year long.

My eyes were closed while I pondered about who was going to be murdered today after Father just lost three mega-deals this week. The last one that flopped today reached the news outlets.

It was a huge trade stock connection, one that would give us billions in revenue before the added profits our association would ignite with various corporations that had their eyes on this connection.

Last week it was a secure deal with no way around negotiation.

This morning, that suddenly changed.

Someone offered an even better deal that hit all the weak points of the promised contract that were supposed to be saved after signatures were made. They’d swept down like a hawk, laid their appealing offer that took everyone aback, and within an hour, they’d gotten the signature.

Yup. Someone is going to die today.

Opening my eyes, I looked over to see Father pacing around like a maniac. Viktor was standing calmly against the wall behind me, while two of our long term guards waited patiently for orders.

I wondered if they ever felt uneasy in these troubled times. They may have devoted many years to our protection, but did they ever worry that one day Dad would lose his shit and just kill them for no reason? Just boom. No justification or anything. Just a man with his trigger-friendly finger?

So many unnecessary questions ran through my mind, and I was hoping this coffee would aid in waking me up after last night's festivities.

I assumed I was off the hook a few days ago because Onyx hadn't murdered me for dancing with Saint. Instead, he'd cuddled with me until the morning, and he was the reason why I was enjoying my fall fix of pumpkin spice delight all week.

My punishment had merely been delayed until last night, when he’d fucked me mercilessly until I literally couldn't remember my name for the life of me. Never thought I could be so lost in sexual release that words didn't make sense and my brain malfunctioned.

I thankfully hid all those bruises with the fitted pink and white suit I was wearing, another set that was sent to me, but this one was from Fendi's new men’s collection line that added a major pop of color in their design.

It was amusing seeing all these brands begin to deliver these outstandingly bright pieces since I started wearing more colorful ensembles. They knew their competitors like LV, Gucci, and Ralph Laurent were killing the fashion industry, especially with all the exposure I'd been giving them.

Fendi just had to hop on the train, and they’d offered me a contract to wear some of their amazing pieces to give them that same trending boost I was sure they needed for their sales. I didn't really care as long as I looked good.

I could afford anything of theirs but they insisted I didn't pay and just enjoyed their fine materials of luxury. I felt like more of a social media influencer than a businessman, but who was I to complain?

Not when Papa Dearest was losing fucking millions and billions every day.

I was already beginning to hear the tiny rumors, wondering if this was the beginning of the downfall of the De Lucas.

To be honest, it kind of made me laugh because it would take Father being murdered in cold blood or him being charged with some sort of fraud for us to really lose our structured place in the ranks of financial prosperity.

In the wolf world, I wasn't as sure. Due to my inability to shift, it wasn't like I was invited to those types of meetings. Aurelia would keep me updated from time to time, but she was busy with her own business that was always popular in the fall months due to Halloween, not to mention the other wolf and witch dilemmas she'd have to deal with.

The phone on Father's desk rang, and he was suddenly there, picking it up and waiting for some news.

"Tell them they’d better be ready for the backlash after everything this has done to my image! I can't fix this shit and it's already leaked to the news outlets. I didn't fucking work my ass off for twenty-plus years for some group of unappreciative bastards to waltz right in with their bulks of money and fancy cars and fuck this up for me! Secure the rest of the deals and ensure they know what they'll be losing and facing if they dare defy our previously agreed statements. Understood?!"

He didn't even wait for them to answer before he slammed the phone onto the receiver.

"I'm leaving early!" he declared, and the guards were already at the doors, awaiting his approach. He glared over at me before pointing in my direction.

"Stay away from that pack of savage fuckers!"

"I don't even know who these people are," I pointed out as I finished the last bit of my coffee. "But if it makes you feel better, sure."
