"Brief," he admitted. "I didn't schedule it or I would have postponed it until Monday.”

I nodded and straightened my back but remained with one leg resting on the other. I wasn't sure who was here and why we were having a meeting before the end of the day, but it would be quick because I wasn't wasting my time here when I was planning to leave early.

Viktor moved to stand on the far left of my desk, giving me space as I flowed into my element of seriousness. Someone knocked at the door.

"You may enter," I announced with a firm voice.

The doors opened up, two of my bodyguards entering the room and standing opposite of one another while two others gestured for my guests to enter. The fact that there were four of them up here told me that whoever these guests were, they had given off immediate bad vibes.

Enough for them to want to protect me.

I caught onto Viktor's stiffness, which only made me more eager to meet this group of individuals. When the first two walked in, I immediately knew who the group was, as the two new faces entered my office.

They stopped in the middle of the room, a smart move in the art of grasping your surroundings. That was one of the early tactics you're taught in both the business world and mafia elements when coming into unfamiliar territory in a public place.

The middle wasn't really "safe" but when you worked in the shadows of the dark realms of business, you didn't play safe.

You play smart.

My eyes decided to go down the line of attractive, hot men, starting from the far left side where a male with short platinum blond hair stood in black dress pants and a gold dress shirt. The scowl on his face made it seem as though he didn't want to be here, and his hands in his pockets only added to that assumption.

He was really tanned, like he sat in the sun all day long for shits and giggles, but if he loved cars and could even build them from scratch, I could only imagine him working on them out in the summer heat of California.

He was 6'4" and though he had a slim waist, his muscles were present even in the long-sleeved attire. His blue eyes were pretty from afar, leaving me to wonder what his background was.

Next was Saint, who was wearing all-white attire. His hair was up in a man bun, showing his gold earrings, which were crosses.

How religious of him.

Those white with hints of gold eyes were playfully staring at me, and I was unable to stop myself from frowning as I remembered my little taunt from earlier in the week.

"You already have my scent. Have fun tonight, and hope to bump into you again if you survive."

I fucked myself over with that one.

Something had told me to change my usual cologne for something harsher, a bold aroma that would blend with my scent, but no. I just didn't want to listen to my instincts this morning.

I was far too unbothered to care after that rollercoaster last night.

Deciding to save that problem for another encounter, I moved onto Dimitris, who wore white pants with a silky maroon dress shirt and a white tie to finish the look. His hair was brushed to one side, not a strand out of place while his bubblegum eyes took in the room.

Making sure there were no traps and such. Smart.

I moved onto the final man but was curious as he wore black shades. It was peculiar seeing as we were inside, and it wasn't sunny at this present moment. I could only assume one thing.

Is he blind?

He must be the one Viktor was referring to as Neo. I took in his appearance, acknowledging his all-black attire, which made him look rather opposite from Saint. The only pop of color was his bright red hair, which was up in a little ponytail. I could see a hint of a tattoo on his neck, and like the others, he was fit, but on the slender side, like Dimitris.

I waited for the doors to close as my guards stood at attention.

"Good afternoon, gentlemen. I apologize in advance, seeing as the individual who scheduled this meeting didn't grant me the heads-up in regard to the topic. I'm short on time so you'll either have to cut this short or reschedule for Monday morning." I got straight to the point. "Will this take longer than five minutes?"

"No," Dimitris replied. "We merely came here as a warning."

"Oh? What did my dear old man do this time?" I inquired and allowed myself to grin while my eyes locked on Dimitris. "Nice to see you again, Dimitris."

"Likewise," he replied and followed up with, "Roberto De Luca seems to have threatened to take our current businesses in NYC and attempt to return us to our base in California."
