"Aside from the Forbiddens?"

"Aside from them," Viktor replied.

"Why do you sound hesitant?" I asked as I punched harder.

"I can't determine what side they're on," he admitted.

"Meaning you don't know what side we're on," I reasoned as I moved even faster. I narrowed my concentration on the bag that was somehow surviving my beating, which only angered me.

My fists were stronger than the fine leather that kept this thing bound together. I held the power to destroy what I needed to in order to survive. I was a survivor. I destroyed all those who dared try to bring me down under into the realms of death.

Nothing would come in my way of victory.

Absolutely nothing.

I jumped off the ground and spun my body until my feet slammed into the bag enough to break the chain that held it and sent it right out of the ring, across the room, and into the wall where it left a dent behind. The massive bag fell and began to bleed out the flow of black sand that kept it full.

I breathed heavily while my body shook, and I suddenly noticed the swift movement behind me that automatically had me turning in time to miss Viktor's kick. He threw a punch the next second, and I was ready, catching it before trying to twist it.

He withstood the pain that ignited, already using his other hand to try and punch me. I let go of his other fist and dove right down to the floor before spinning my body with one leg out to try and knock him down.

He jumped, flipping backward before he jolted forward as I tried to get back up - tackling me to the ground. He sat on me, ready to punch the shit out of me, but I lifted my hands up and caught one fist, followed by the other, both arms shaking violently as I held them with every bit of strength I possessed.

His eyes were glowing a vibrant gold, which only made me narrow mine as bits of jealousy reminded me of my predicament.

Reminded me that we're on different playing fields and there's nothing I can do about it.

I lifted my leg in one quick movement, connecting to his balls, which had him hissing in pain as he lost his motivation to punch me into oblivion. I took the chance to toss him to the side and got up, pacing to calm myself down.

Relax, Willow. It's just Viktor. Don't be jealous of him. He only wants good for you. All he's ever wanted since you were little was good. He ain't your enemy. Yes. He's whatever he is.

My name was being called but I ignored it as I came to a stop and stared at the broken bag that was all deflated with black sand all around it. How glorifying it would be if that was my enemy. To watch them crumble beneath my strength and quiver at the mention of my name.

How satisfying it would be to even have a glimpse of that power. That control over all those who belittled my worth due to all my flaws and areas of lack.

Hands gently rested on my shoulders, squeezing enough to draw my attention. Lifting my head up, I looked up to his black eyes with the hint of golden rims that told me his wolf was still itching against the wall of his mind but observing me on purpose.

"That was new," Viktor commented casually, as if not to freak me out. I'm not sure what special trick I'd done, but I guess this was the first time I'd kicked that 500lbs bag out of the ring and across the room like it was garbage.

"Did I trigger something?" Those lines of concern snapped me out of my boiling anger as I took a deep breath and let it out.

"No," I replied. "I just got a little upset about those who belittle me over not being a wolf. The usual."

He nodded but remained where he was while his hands remained on my shoulders.

"You know you're worth it. How valuable and precious you are. A flower that's at the brink of blooming. Don't let the shade of negativity stop you from blooming, Willow. Push away the dark pellets of rain that wish to beat against you, to drown you in misery and self-hate," he whispered and leaned in even closer. "You have the key to unlock all your potential and more. All you have to do is wait for the right timing for that key to be in your possession."

"You know when you speak in that husky prophetic voice, you make me want to crush on you again," I muttered and lowered my head to look one last time at the bag. "That's going to be costly to fix."

"It'll be fine," he assured me and chuckled as he placed his hand on my head and began messing up my hair.

"Hey!"

"You wouldn't be able to handle me if we dated."

"Says who? I can handle Onyx," I reasoned.

"Thank Mother Moon you can, because no one else can control him."
