"What about Roberto?" I asked as I moved around to see his amused smirk.

"Even your father can't control Onyx. He's here for the end game of being with you. That's it." His phone began to vibrate then, and he slipped it out of his joggers only to frown at the screen.

"Looks like someone has to go to work," I suggested, knowing that look meant some shit was going down that needed his attention asap.

"You'll be able to clean up?" he asked,

"I've done that plenty of times." I winked and gently punched his stomach, which was pretty counterproductive with those hard abs of his. "Go. I'll be fine going home."

He stared at me for a hard minute, but his phone vibrated again. He ruffled my hair one more time before he headed to his corner where his gear was and jumped out of the ring in a matter of seconds.

"See you when I see you," I called out, and he waved his hand as he speed-walked out the door. Poor guy never got a break, but shit must have been serious for him to bail so fast.

Looking around, I nodded to myself and got to work cleaning up. I left the bag where it was, knowing the staff would fix it once I notified them on my way out. After making the place somewhat decent for the cleaning crew, I headed to the locker room to clean up.

I didn't take a long shower, just enough to get the stench of sweat off me, and put on some new clothes. I got dressed in ripped jeans and a black crop top with lace material and silver buttons in the front.

The top always intrigued me because of the straps at the bottom half that wrapped around my torso. Slipping on my fingerless dark grey gloves, I blew out my hair until it was silky smooth once more.

With a nod to my reflection, I decided to leave my gym bag behind in the locker, knowing damn well either Viktor or even Onyx would come to retrieve it. They knew if I was going to head home alone that I made sure not to carry extra baggage.

Don't need anything weighing you down in the midst of the night.

It wasn't even late, but the sun was already gone, and the cool night seemed to be extra dark tonight. After notifying the staff about the broken punching bag, I expressed my goodbyes before I walked into the cool night.

Slipping my phone into my bra, I stretched my aching arms and sighed.

"I'm hungry," I admitted out loud before beginning to walk home.

People were bustling to get to their destinations, some wearing gorgeous dresses that twinkled against the flashing lights of street vendors and passing cars. Others were in work clothes, waiting in lines for restaurants, bars, and bus shelters.

I noticed the rolling clouds of dark grey with the hint of lightning flickering through the air. It seemed to be a unified movement as many of us realized that the beautiful, cool night was going to turn wet as many began to speed up, some dashing into a sprint to get away from the approaching downfall.

Slipping my hands into my pockets, I kept walking and even enjoyed the beginning droplets of rain that fell. The soft beads of water falling from the sky seemed to grow harsher by the second until everyone was running for shelter as the rain pounded anyone who dared to walk through the intense storm.

Including myself.

It became even worse, bringing fog that made it impossible to see, and my senses started to tingle as the scent of silver made the hairs on my arms rise up. My speedy walk turned into a sprint of my own as I used the lack of sight to my advantage while my other senses increased.

I smelled the approaching threat, scents of alcohol, smoke, and chains of silver hitting me at once. I was still running at full speed as I approached what felt like a crossroad as cars began to beep and warn of their passing.

I jumped off the ground, suddenly jumping on the hoods of cars. That's when I heard those who were following me.

Tracking me down in the thrill of the storm.

It was almost laughable because I knew this city better than anyone.

Better than my old man.

My lack of sight wasn't going to do shit to harm me. It was only aiding me as I devised a plan to lure them into an environment I could control.

Something further away from any of the humans.

I was breathing hard now as I'd dodged three major hits of bullets while two individuals tried to tackle me down.

They were close calls, but I still raced at full speed towards the forest that would lead to the Pack House. They knew if I got to the Pack House they would be screwed, but I wasn't going to run all the way there, acting like a weakling.

All I needed was to be on our rich De Luca soil so I could kill these mother fuckers and allow their blood to be shed on the place they should never have been.
