"So you did dance with her at the club, you lying fucker!" Jayce accused as he let go of me to waltz over to Saint, who laughed.

"You wanted me to ignore her hypnotizing hips that worked like a damn goddess? What kind of cruel asshole are- GAH!" The being of darkness seemed to move fast enough to punch him in the gut before being back by the woman's side.

"Don't sexualize my Willow when you don't own her."

"Oh, my bad." Saint’s tone didn't carry a hint of shame. "I don't see your mate bond on her, so..."

"You just want to die, huh?" Jayce questioned out of pity.

I decided to reel the conversation to the point.

"Why did she not kill me before but then lost consciousness and turned into a killing machine?"

The guy didn't say anything at first as he scooped Willow up. I noticed how her energy seemed to mold beautifully with this man. Even with her being unconscious, it was as though her unconscious state knew who he was and that he wouldn't harm her.

Even with him puncturing her with whatever that was. The motive was obviously to help her.

"I can't tell you unless we make a deal."

Dimitris moved to stand next to me as Saint took his place on my right and Jayce stood next to Dimitris.

"Why would we make a deal with our enemy?" Dimitris inquired with great seriousness. "You're on Roberto's side."

"I'm on the side that keeps Willow safe." He said it loud and clear as droplets of rain began to pour down from the sky. "Looks like Roberto has opened up some old wounds, and if they're deciding to come after my Willow, my place on Roberto's side ends and he knows it."

"What about the guard?" Saint asked. "Or butler? Whatever he is. His allegiance isn't moving from his master."

"Viktor Omega," he began, and the name alone rang a bell through all of us. He was a mercenary in the lands of magic, forced into becoming a hybrid breed. That hadn’t been common during the olden days of wars and countless loss of lives. He'd gone into hiding from what I speculated, but he looked far different than the images depicted in those ancient mage books.

"His original agreement was to Roberto until the birth of Willow De Luca. Upon that day, his contract was altered and his purpose in the De Luca family became to protect Willow."

"Where is he now?" Saint inquired.

"He wouldn't possibly let her run this far out, get her bones broken, and practically face us if he was guarding her, right?" Jayce questioned with a hint of annoyance. He hated people who couldn't do their jobs.

"Russian wolves are at the borderlines of NYC."

That shut the four of us up and he carried right on. "You know no one plays around with them, and Viktor speaks Russian fluently, and also has good standing with their pack Alphas. Which returns the pointing finger to Roberto, who's done something to piss off far too many people. Now they want payback, and Willow's going to be caught in the crossfire."

"You want us to basically aid you, but why? What deal could we make that you'll approve of?"

He was silent for ten seconds before it seemed as if he turned around - the glowing beauty of cool colors disappearing as shadows of darkness left me feeling a tad hollow once more.

"We make a deal that you accept Willow into your pack."

"You realize if we accept her, she loses her freedom." Dimitris sounded amused by this unexpected circumstance, and I was curious as to what this man would say.

"I'm aware of pack terms," he replied. "But let me give you a grave warning."

He paused as if he were fighting his wolf - specks of silver piercing through the dark energy that coursed off him and into my black vision.

"Willow is not one to submit to anyone. You will not treat her like a submissive wolf, let alone a weak human. You may not respect her now, and I allow you to have such an opinion, but unless she gives you permission, don't fucking dare hurt her without consent."

"Why?" The word left my lips and I felt the tense stares of my brothers, but my blank gaze was on the man. I watched his aura bleed to silver as he turned his head slightly enough for me to see the silver rings of his pupils.

"Because I already crossed that boundary and I won't dare let another man do the same to her." We were silent at the words of this man's wolf. His words alone carried a pang of guilt that felt like he’d carried it for eons, and for him to reveal it to us - practically strangers - showed how much this woman meant to him.

How she's engraved her energy into his beating heart that bleeds for only her.
