Page 86 of Wolf Awakened

He looked away once more and quietly added, "And if she somehow becomes a wolf, she'll be Alpha."

The second part was rather absurd, especially when she was twenty-five and wasn't a wolf yet, but then again, I had a tiny hunch that something was brewing within her.

Especially with those hints of gold I witnessed earlier.

Dimitris burst into laughter, shocking the rest of us before he answered.

"Fine," he declared with pride. "We get Willow into our pack with the conditions of gaining her consent and deeming her Alpha if she somehow discovers her wolf…if she has one," Dimitris simply stated.

I wondered if he was thinking straight because this was a very risky move, even for him. He never liked making last-minute decisions because he always fucked up.

Was this going to be another one of those? More importantly, does he care?

"One more thing?"

"Can we at least know your name if you're going to demand stuff?" Jayce questioned.

"Onyx Charm," he announced. "And I get to visit her whenever I deem fit."

"I bet that's a given seeing as you're practically a stalker," Saint casually commented as the rain grew harder. I didn't like the scent of the rain, the aroma unnatural.

"We need to go," I announced to draw their attention. "Someone is manipulating the weather."

"To our place," Dimitris offered, but Onyx interjected.

"No."

When he had our attention, he continued, "My place, or what you just dealt with will come back out to play. She needs her meds and they're at my place."

"Why not her place?" Jayce questioned.

"You want Roberto noticing the men who've literally stolen billions from him strolling through her place? He may not have cameras within her space, but he has plenty of intel that will notify him of our arrival, so no."

"Fine," Dimitris concluded. "Lead the way, Mr. Charm."

"Onyx," he muttered. "Don't got time for that formal bullshit, especially from your ass."

"Why do I have a feeling we're not gonna get along?" Saint wondered happily.

"Cause we won't," Jayce concluded.

They walked away, but I remained until a hand fell on my shoulder.

"Neo."

It was Dimitris, which made me smirk before I muttered, "She didn't perish from my move."

He was silent, but I could envision him nodding his head before he patted my shoulder three times.

Understand. Don't worry. Keep moving.

I nodded in return and we walked away in silence, but my imagination was rewinding the beautiful image of Willow. The colorful flow of her thrilling energy.

I was unsure how she'd take her new predicament, but I didn't care. She was a part of our pack now. Our Forbidden pack. There was no way out now.

Why do I feel as though she'll fit right in? Or better yet...make it her own.
