"We do," Dimitris acknowledged, his eyes still glaring my way. "But it would be smart to reveal the terms and conditions of our new contract deal with Onyx and Willow slash William De Luca."
That caught my attention as Onyx grunted. "Can you not make it so professional, like I sold her soul to you? It's not that fucking serious."
"Onyx," I threatened. "What did you do while I was unconscious and what the fuck happened? Wait. What day is it?"
"Sunday," the five of them announced, which made me frown at the random synchronicity and the fact it was fucking Sunday.
I turned to the one person I knew would give me the quick summary I needed to function accordingly.
"Short and crisp," I demanded of Onyx, who sighed.
"You got chased out of town and almost kidnapped. You killed twelve out of the sixteen fuckers. You got injured by Neo's voodoo, passed out, were possessed by the Devil in Prada, I jabbed you with your happy Snickers, and you passed out again. You've been out for almost a week. Since then, I pulled out of the Palo Santo pack and now am with these mother fuckers who have made an agreement to protect you in exchange for you being amongst their pack and losing your freedom."
I stared at him while I absorbed each point, letting it all run through my mind slowly.
My version of "slowly" was two long minutes of silence, which left Saint whispering, "Fuck. I think she's broken."
"Or in shock," Jayce suggested with obvious boredom.
"She's prioritizing," Neo commented like he could see into my head.
Onyx and Dimitris said nothing, which was a good thing because I finally spoke. "You gave me a fucking Snickers shot?!"
The others were silent while Onyx sighed. I knew this was about to turn into an argument in three...two...one.
"I don't get why you hate those things when they're made for your safety," he began, and I was already jabbing at his thick thigh.
"I'm going to be fucking bruised for a year!" I snapped. "You know how much I fucking hate those things. At least the actual Snickers bar tastes good and doesn't leave a big black bruise that makes it look like I have skin cancer! How the fuck am I going to fight in the ring with this shit? HUH?!"
"You can use fucking magic! Cover it up!"
"Cover your fucking face up!" I snapped, about to punch him, but he moved out of the way. I’d already predicted that and went straight for his balls - as usual. No matter how many times I did this, it always seemed to connect right on. He grunted and fell over, with me tackling him and pounding his body like it was going to do something.
"Fucker! I'm going to tell Aurelia to spike the next drink you ingest and make you have diarrhea for a week! Try covering that up, you fucking douche of an idiot!"
"How am I a douche and an idiot for trying to protect your ass?!" he snapped, trying to recover from the kick while I continued to pound at him. "You were going to go on a murder spree!"
"GOOD! Kill all the damn assholes in this world who think they can belittle me! Then they'll stay far away from me instead of daring to try to kidnap me!"
"You're not even attacking the root of the problem here!"
"Oh I will!" I vowed. "After I kill you and spread your ashes in the fucking ocean!"
The four men at the table were completely silent until a pair of heels clicked against the tiles and I lifted my head to see Aurelia practically skipping into the room.
Her nude lips pouted when she noticed the men at the table before she looked over at me and Onyx, then smirked.
"Hey, Bitch! Why you killing Onyx this time?" she greeted and asked before adding, "Is it because of the happy Snickers? Or the fact he pulled out of his pack to be with those bastards over there?"
"Hey!" the four of them barked at her and she shrugged.
"The truth," she declared.
"Aurelia!" I exclaimed and gave up on Onyx to climb off of him and move right into hugging my bestie. "Save me from this madness. I have to be hallucinating!"
"You're not, sadly, but if you're worried about that bruise on your thigh, I’ve got you covered," she announced, which made my eyes widen with a glimmer of hope.
"Really?!"
