I took a long, deep breath, my body shaking as my mind whirled, trying to think of a way out. "Twelve weeks," I announced. "Find a replacement after that."

"You can't quit!" he snarled.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did you just say I can't quit?" I questioned. "I'm giving you three months in advance warning that I'm cutting our contract. Basically, a vocal resignation. You're lucky I don't fuck everything now, quit, and leave you to deal with the loose ends."

I expected his silence, so I carried right along. "I will come in when I feel like coming in. Actually, that's fucking bullshit since I don't even own myself anymore. My bad." I laughed before shaking my head. "I'll have to speak to my new masters."

"You don't know who these wolf Alphas are," he muttered.

"What? Did you just make an assumption I was referring to the three leaders of global wealth you sold me to? See, that deal is only one-sided. They haven't forced me to sign on the dotted line, which I know is part of every deal that gives huge amounts of money in exchange for an individual's needs."

"That's not-"

"True? Papa Dearest, do you think I'm a novice in the world of the paranormal? We don't go along the lines of human mafia groups that take verbal deals without paper proof and a nice paw print in blood. Usually forced, obviously. You think after watching you kidnap women and even men from various third world countries to sell in exchange for cash I wouldn't have caught onto those practices?" Another laugh left me because this shit was fucking hilarious. It was ridiculous.

This man really thought I was a stupid human who didn't analyze every single crime he committed in my presence. Not to mention all the shit I'm sure he didn't believe I knew about.

"Have I given you a glimpse of my power? My ability to not only ruin you but how easy it would be for me to rise above and replace you?"

"They would never let a girl rise to the seat of power I sit upon!" he snapped.

"Aww, are you still living with the impression that this is a man's world?" I said with a bit of sadness as I pouted. "Papa Dearest, we're in a new age, and if I wanted to rise into power, I could with the right people by my side."

I could imagine him scowling with a red face, which made me giggle at the imaginative thought. "Let's stop this foolishness. I have shit to do now that I know I'm on the bidding block to sign and imprint a contract with my blood. Makes sense now why I was almost kidnapped, seeing as you probably made this contract after the Forbidden pack kept fucking up your latest deals."

I bobbed my head and got back to the point.

"Let your dealers know that as of now, I'm a part of the Forbidden pack."

He gasped so loud, I was sure everyone else around me could hear it. I only smirked and moved right along. "They've already made a deal with Onyx, and he accepted and tied me into the loop. Don't believe me? Go ahead and ask the Palo Santo Alpha where Onyx is. He’ll happily let you know."

I could hear the old man pacing, and I had to hold onto my laughter as I carried on.

"Seeing as the contract is very valid and I haven't fired him, I revoke our vocal agreement that you can call upon Viktor when you need him to do your dirty work. He's now mine, as agreed upon in the contract created when I was but a babe. As for your relationship with the Clementines, count it voided. Aurelia will be working with me, as will her family. She'll send you the official papers on Monday."

"The council will be informed tonight at our coven meeting," Aurelia spoke up loud enough for him to realize she was present. "Nice doing business with you while it lasted!"

"You can't fucking do this."

"I can, seeing as I still have some sort of my freedom before my masters steal all of that from me in a few moments," I reasoned and continued. "Don't expect me tomorrow. I don't work on Mondays. A four-day week should have been mandatory rather than the whole Monday bullshit. Maybe I would have liked the day better if you didn't beat the shit out of me when your deals went to shit every weekend all those years ago."

"Willow," he quietly muttered.

"Oh. Now trying to persuade me to stay? To acknowledge that I'm a female who thought if she worked overtime training her tiny ability of magic she retrieved from her mother, she'd be the male you’ve always begged to have? Are you disappointed that after all the shit you pulled to control me, I've somehow grown into a woman you can't keep in shackles, like Mother? Surely it annoys you to your core that I'm about to start some sort of mega war because you can't fulfill your end of the bargain."

I swallowed the lump in my throat before whirling around and walking over to the table until I was standing between Jayce and Saint, my eyes locked on Dimitris.

"Contract," I boldly stated. He didn't hesitate to offer his hand to Neo, who snapped his fingers and magically summoned the pieces of paper I requested.

I centered my attention on the bundle of pages, ready to get this over with before doubt attempted to sweep in. Dimitris turned the document to the final page where Onyx's signature and paw mark already were.

Aurelia offered me a pen, and I had to thank my bestie for always being prepared for these spontaneous moments. In black ink, I signed my name on the dotted line, and after returning the fancy Tiffany Co. pen, I sank my teeth into my thumb and allowed it to bleed before pressing it against the fine white paper. They all watched me as I locked eyes with Dimitris.

"From this moment onward, I belong to the Forbidden Pack. Anyone who decides to deem otherwise can deal with them," I vowed with honor while still holding my gaze with Dimitris. "Three months, Father. Four days a week. I will continue my role as William, but don't you dare push me. One wrong move and I'll make your whole business crumble."

I paused to allow my words to sink in, the room as silent as the other side of the line, where I'm sure my father was realizing that I wasn’t his tool to use anymore.

No more expectations to try and fill. No more dealing with his abusive bullshit. No more of that outcast shit. I'm a human with skills no other human carries, and he's just lost me and all those connected to me.
