"That's Onyx for you." Aurelia sighed.

"At least he had some sort of plan if things went wrong," Willow reasoned, the two of them already leaving. Viktor followed and Onyx quickly told us the password if we needed the security room.

"What about the explosives?" Jayce called out as Onyx was about to leave.

"Oh. Don't worry. I'll deactivate them when I get home."

"Does that mean we're stuck here?" Saint asked in horror.

"Ya," Onyx replied and gave us a wink. "Had to at least get some sort of payback for forcing me to sign that shit. Don't worry, I'll be back in an hour."

Silence followed as he seemed to go out the front door.

"I need to pee," Neo commented, which made the other two groan.

"Why do I feel as though this is going to be far more difficult than anything we've dealt with?" Jayce questioned.

"I like the thrill of the unknown," Saint cheered. "Willow is going to be fun."

I decided to relax in the chair, realizing we'd actually be here until he turned the explosives off.

I've been played....for once.

"What now, Dimitris?" Neo asked as the other two turned my way. All I could do was smirk as I thought of all the things we could do to Willow in the wildest places -and get away with.

"We play the waiting game," I declared. "But more importantly, let's prove to this woman that she made a damn mistake.”

Let's see if she can handle the wrath of the Forbidden.

Play Dead And Already Behind

"If I poison his drink, how long would I have to get to the airport, take the private jet, and hide in Mexico?"

"You'd be caught before reaching the airport, the private jet would be detained, and if you wanted to hide in Mexico, you'd have to pull some strings with the mafia leader down there. I don't question your ability, but the journey by car would be forty hours, and if you werewolf, maybe thirty if you sprinted the entire way," Viktor calmly replied as I doodled on my tablet while attempting to plot two murders: Roberto's and Dimitris's deaths.

The last two weeks had been a living hell and the tension coursing through me was enough to kill a few people if not an entire pack if I wanted to.

My decision to join the Forbidden pack was the beginning of the brewing inferno which started with Roberto announcing my approaching resignation in a press conference called after many people questioned if he was going through a business crisis with the recent failures at securing mega-deals with state-of-the-art organizations and businesses around the world.

I felt as though he expected me to be disgraced and dragged through the media for my unexpected resignation after working with this branch for five years after the two years of on-and-off training at another location we'd obviously outgrown.

Seven years in the business and suddenly I was resigning? All the announcement did was ignite a flow of speculations about whether he'd solely gotten himself to his high status, or if he was using me and my fresh, young knowledge to snag the deals.

Not only were people speculating such, they wondered if the sudden deals that were going wrong and my unexpected departure meant some big, juicy secret was about to come out and I was doing myself a favor by getting out.

Instead of me losing fans, the morning stair climb had tripled in support. I'd been offered multiple deals from people that were begging me to join their organizations, and even sponsors from across the world were ready to invest if I decided to open a business of my own.

It was truly tempting to do now, but that decision wasn't solely in my hands anymore.

Dimitris. Neo. Saint. Jayce.

The four Forbidden wolves, plus my Onyx, were now the rulers of my life, seeing as I was a human and not on equal footing in the realms of the shifter world. It was like I'd left the captivity of my father's chains and entered a whole new cage that kept me from being free.

I wasn't allowing myself to regret it just yet. I’d made this decision, knowing damn well I could be entering a nest of vicious beasts. In my mind, I felt like it was a much better challenge than continuing to work with Roberto, who underhandedly sold me to three different packs who either had no idea or were going to fight to see who could claim me first.

There was no logic to how I would be any use to them. I was human. Sure, I could run fast, climb and jump in between trees, use magic to switch my gender and conjure weapons to protect myself, and hid a few secrets only Roberto, Viktor, Onyx, and Aurelia knew about, but could I possibly be beneficial to three of the most powerful packs in the world?
