“Willow?” I asked with concern. “You good?”

“I’m a bit dizzy,” she confessed and closed her eyes. “Maybe I’m pushing it a bit.”

“You should try to rest after we clean up things here,” Neo suggested as he lowered his pencil onto the stone bench they were sitting upon.

“You haven’t had much recovery time.”

“True, but there’s so much to do. This isn’t the time for me to be weak.”

This woman…

“Pushing your body to the max is only going to leave you out of the playing field longer, Sugar,” I emphasized while I calmed my fucking cock that was far too hard for comfort. I’d envisioned fucking her after Neo had a moment to play with that wet pussy of hers, but the mere thought of Willow being unwell shot an arrow through the horny train.

“You’re right,” she admitted and sighed again. “Maybe it’s something in the air?”

I glanced over to Neo as he moved his hand to tug at the tie of his blindfold. The silk band fell with ease, revealing those hollow eyes with spinning magic circles.

“Something is in the air,” Neo admitted with a frown, but his shock matched mine as we looked down to see Willow was gone.

“Oh fuck,” I cursed and immediately looked around. “Where did she go?”

“Willa?” Neo called out and was greeted with a happy giggle that was too far away for comfort.

“Fuck. We gotta find her,” I encouraged as Neo got up from the bench.

“She’s not far, but I’m not sure what she’s looking for.”

“She’s looking for something?” That didn’t make much sense to me. To be honest, it made me anxious to have her out in the garden alone, as if I knew something dangerous was brewing and I needed to be at her side this instant to ensure her safety.

I don’t want her getting hurt again…

“Seems that way. Like a scavenger hunt,” Neo disclosed but his eyes fell upon me.

“What?” His gaze made me frown while my wolf poked an eye open as if he were intrigued by whatever Neo was thinking.

“When are you going to tell Dimitris about that third party in your head?”

Fucking hell…

“How…” I couldn’t even finish asking the question as that very entity took over like a switch—and my body materialized behind the bench where Neo stood completely still.

“Why should I tell him?”I challenged him with the option as I leaned in to chuckle.“Frightened of what this shadowed side can do?”

Neo seemed unbothered as he simply glanced back to confirm the switch in my personality that I was struggling to rein back in. My wolf was up but he didn’t seem bothered by this entity. It was as if he were observing this entity's actions, which was no different from the time this power oozed when I was fucking Sugar.

“I don’t care what you can do, honestly,” Neo genuinely answered. “I’m not afraid of you.”

“You should be,”I seethed as my fingers spread out, only to wrap around a conjured blade that was now pressed around his throat.“I could kill you in a blink of an eye.”

Neo still wasn’t moved by my words.

“Empty words are stupid,” Neo summed up like the conversation was over, which ticked off the entity to the point that he dug the blade enough to cut Neo’s flesh just slightly. The scent of blood hit the air, but the man still remained still like a statue.

“You just like playing with fire,”I snarled in disgust.“Fire. I despise it.”

I wasn’t really understanding why the element bothered this part of me when I wasn’t frightened by it in the slightest. That was probably the least of my concerns when I was on the verge of killing Neo—as if the fucker would die.

A click sound went off—one that resembled the safety of a gun—and I froze at the chilled touch of a barrel pressed against my right temple. I didn’t need to look as the whiff of flowers immediately tamed the pillar of anxiety building within me.
