“I can tap into your magic energy, duh,” she reminded me because I clearly forgot that was one of the many benefits of being a Master-Disciple duo.
I’m so fucking messed up right now.
The sound of the tap running distracted me as I peered to the open washroom door to see Willow splashing her face a few times with what had to be cold water.
When she was finished, she closed the tap and laid her hands on the counter, which raised a few red flags. I was at her side in a heartbeat, which made her weakly chuckle.
“Don’t freak out now,” she encouraged. “I’m fine.”
“You don’t sound fine at all,” I noted and immediately wrapped an arm around her waist so I could better support her weight.
“Thanks,” she whispered as she closed her eyes for a moment. “I haven’t felt like this in a long while.”
“Do you need to lie down?” I offered.
“I think if I do, I ain’t getting up for a bit.”
As if I cared about that.
I didn’t waste another second letting her stand as I scooped her up and immediately used my feet to lightly kick the door closed. With magic, it locked into place while I walked to the right corner of the washroom and immediately lowered to the floor so Willow could rest on my lap.
“Man, I feel like deadweight,” she complained. She really did look like shit in a matter of seconds.
“You may be going through a withdrawal episode,” I suggested as it dawned on me that she’d cut her meds off cold turkey. I knew she’d been taking a single pill that was supposed to keep her energy levels up, but when was the last time she’d taken one?
She’s had to have missed a dose or two.
"Withdrawal…maybe.” She was barely conscious now which prompted me to reach out to Dimitris.
Dimitris, when was the last time Willow took that balance pill?
It took him three seconds to reply, but it wasn’t toward me.
“Neo?”
“Before she got kidnapped,”Neo immediately replied.“Has no one given her a dose?”
The others began to chip in.
“I completely forgot she was taking any medication,”Jayce admitted.
“It skipped my mind,”Onyx confessed.
“I didn’t know,”Loki genuinely answered.
“Is that why Sweet Domino’s mood is all over the place?”Arthur suggested.“I thought you guys would have noticed but I don’t know her medical regimen.”
“I gave her a boost before we arrived but didn’t think she was off medication,”Milo announced.“It has to be withdrawal symptoms.”
Does anyone have a pill on them? Willow’s on the verge of passing out.
I could feel everyone’s anxiety revolving around the lingering question, but the knock at the door tugged me out of the conversation.
“Who is it?” I demanded and held Willow a bit tighter just in case I’d have to do an unexpected teleport.
“Special delivery.”
My nerves immediately calmed at the familiar voice before I magically unlocked the door that opened the next second.
