“He’s easily triggered by fire,” I reminded him.
“I won’t smoke near him,” Arthur assured me. “I’m aware of his triggers, just like Loki’s.”
“You don’t seem very surprised to have a male and female mate,” I commented as I observed him carefully.
“Surprised? I was when it was revealed to me, but I don’t know. I’m not letting myself think about it.” He peered over his shoulder at me. “Just going with the flow and letting Mother Moon guide me makes it so I don’t fuck anything up. I’m grateful to be mated to two people, and honestly…maybe this will aid Arthur in his journey to recovery. He may not show it, but he’s suffering in that mind of his. I guess it’s the reason why he was suddenly thrown into our lives.”
His words reminded me of how there were only supposed to be eight endangered wolves.
"Maybe Mother Moon is partnering with fate and trying to change our destinies to another path,” Saint continued as he looked away. “If that’s the case, we’ll just have to roll with it. At least surviving this fucked-up world is better with a group of forbidden hybrids than being by yourself. Makes you realize that you don’t need to shoulder the burden of this world alone. That you deserve a group of fuckers who just get you.” He quietly laughed. “See ya, Vikky. Take care of Blossoming Flower for me.”
He left before I could correct him, leaving me to stare at the door for a long moment.
“It’s not Vikky,” I muttered, but I allowed my eyes to close and my lips to lift to their full potential.
“What an odd time to be alive,” I whispered.
I just have to go with the flow.
