CONFRONTATION OF ROYALS AND SURPRISE

“There’s been a misunderstanding! Why can’t we speak about this?!”

The elevator doors opened to reveal someone speaking I wasn’t expecting to hear. My heart clenched at the frustrated feminine voice.

"We can’t speak about this, for my level of patience has completely run out.”Nico’s voice sent chills through me as the seductive artist in red stood at the very front of my Forbidden Pack with Dimitris on his right and Milo on his left.

The sight of the confrontation forced me to stay completely still as my eyes darted back and forth to confirm what I was truly witnessing.

It was like we’d opened a portal that led to a confrontation between two forces: Nico, Dimitris, Milo, Onyx, Loki, Jayce, Saint, and Arthur were on the right side, while on the left was Aurelia, four members of the Coven dressed in black, five men that looked similar to Aurelia’s pack mates, and the individual I wouldn’t dare be caught in the same room with after what I’d just experienced.

The fae who’d tried to trap me in the hex.

Viktor sensed the rigidity that began to take over my body, which was why he not only firmly squeezed my hand to remind me I was still in the world of reality but proceeded to take the lead and tug me forward while his magic seemed to shield both of us.

All eyes landed on us, and it was thanks to Bria’s sudden push forward that I was able to stand my ground and let all my emotions wash from my face, leaving but a blank expression though my eyes were glued on the man who’d dared to trap me in his mental fae prison.

“Willow.” Aurelia could barely say my name as my arrival seemed like a true surprise to the majority of them.

I didn’t want to seem so cold, and yet I’d shut my emotions down so I wouldn’t be triggered to do what I really wanted.

To tackle that fae fucker and rip him to shreds for invading my mind and trying to stop me from obtaining what was mine.

Instead of paying them any mind, I glanced to Nico, who was observing me carefully.

"Shouldn’t we be heading over to change into our attire for the evening?” My voice was deadpan. “The recent attack is clearly going to make us late for the show.”

Nico grinned proudly as he dared to walk over to us and immediately took my free hand so he could press his lips upon his royal bond mark.

It made me shiver, as the touch caused the mark to blaze to the surface. I guessed it was the first time for many to witness the mark and the power it demonstrated by its mere existence because many observers gasped as they realized I was clearly bonded to Neo—which, of course, included Nico.

"I personally requested for the runway to be delayed by an hour,” Nico announced rather loudly as his lips curled upward at my own questioning gaze. "Though not due to the attack. My contributions were purposely delayed by an accident on the freeway here. Something about falling fireballs attempting to crash into my specific truck. It’s intriguing how the fire seemed magic-based, which is giving me Coven vibes.”

“We had no involvement in such deceptive executions,” Aurelia emphasized. "We just arrived.”

"With the man who decided to attempt to put the future Phoenix queen in a coma,” Milo dryly noted, and boy, his voice was not only deeper than usual, but the man had grown a bit taller and was practically the same high as Loki now.

His anger had to be influencing his fae magic which was why he seemed bulkier and taller—one of the signs that he was fighting to not shift into his fae form.

“I’m saddened to state I’m unaware of such actions done to Miss De Luca,” the fae man dared to state as he wore an apologetic look and further bowed his head. “My name is Prince Alywn Forest Dehandtre. I am one of the future kings of the eastern lands of Faerie and am clearly a representative of the peace treaty. I would never risk such harm to anyone outside of our lands. Despite our agreement being catered to fae and fae hybrids, I would still never use such deceptive tactics against a royal wolf shifter.”

“Are you trying to state in a public place that you have no involvement in the intentional attack against our mate, Willow Alundra Phoenix?” Dimitris spoke up. "If proven otherwise, I’ll ensure you’re executed in front of your own people.”

A few gasped at Dimitris’s threat but Milo only chuckled as he took a step forward.

“I, Prince Milo of the North Kingdom, approve any disciplinary action needed to be taken in the Faerie or Earth lands if it’s proven that someone here dared to trap our queen in a hex for their own personal entertainment,”he declared with magic that made everyone shiver slightly.

My men were clearly not playing games with this because Saint stepped forward.

"As a representative of the Vatican and with the obvious attempts aimed at one of our own, I’ve been approved to vouch for the protection and immunity of Willow De Luca, who will soon be appointed and revealed as Willow Alundra Phoenix after the runway show,” he announced with a smile that made his eyes look lethal. "If anyone does know who decided to attack Willow with such a forbidden trick, please state it now. Otherwise, anyone found guilty of interfering in tonight’s runway schedule will be judged and punished accordingly.”

The silence was deafening, and yet I could feel the nervous energy brewing in the room.

Prince Alywn dared to raise his hand before he spoke. “I don’t understand why we’re bringing fae affairs into this. Such tactics are fae matters that need to be addressed by a king or queen of Faerie territory,” he emphasized. “I do not wish to dismiss any of our royal titles or positions of hierarchy. However, seeing as this is a case of fae magic being manipulated against a shifter who is clearly not fae, this confrontation seems rather reckless and immature.”

“Are you trying to diminish an act of treason?” Viktor surprisingly spoke up, and the way his aura grew was intimidating. "I believe you’re forgetting what the true meaning of this runway is.”

The man gulped as he further bowed his head in Viktor’s direction.
