"I completely understand!” She beamed and let go of Willow’s hands for a moment to take a step back so she could pick up the sides of her elegant down and do a formal curtsey. “Let me formally apologize for my lack of manners! I was possessed with such joyous excitement at Willow’s return that I forgot to introduce myself!”

Rising, she flicked away her gorgeous teal hair with a generous amount of golden tinsel strands, and the action forced us to acknowledge the enchanting crown of gold sitting upon her head.

"Queen Auraleia Delianna Clementine! Ruler of the dark fae lands of the south court and temporary ruler of the north. It’s such a pleasure to meet all the members of the Forbidden Pack! Please accept my apologies for reacting the way I did without formal introductions.”

She reached for my hands once more, her fingers entwining with mine as she smiled so beautifully, my heart was a beating mess.

“I know you like calling me Aura, Willow, so feel free to call me that or anything you like! Have you met my little brother, Theo? He’s obviously not a twin like me, which I thank the fae gods and goddesses for or he’d be such a pain in the ass when he’s hungry or tired, but he’s super nice and supportive! He’s a bit harsh, but he means well!”

“I heard that!” Prince Theo snarled but seemed too shy to speak as boldly as he had before. "Hello,” he quietly muttered as he looked away.

"This reunion is such a blessing! We should enjoy a lovely feast after all this is over, but for now, don’t you need to get dressed, Willow?”

“Ah…yes,” I replied as I tried to blink out of my shock and ask what I was positive was on everyone’s mind. I struggled with just accepting what was right before me.

Aurelia? But she’s Auraleia. How is this making sense? Why can’t I remember her?

"I can help you dress as we catch—” Her words were cut short at the slight glimmer that emerged within our joined hands.

We both glanced down to watch the glow grow bigger and stronger—the reaction only summoning my incantations that blazed to life all along my arms and down to my very fingertips.

My eyes widened as I watched similar incantations begin to form along Aura’s arms. The levitating force of the flowing magic began to make my cape and hair float upward while it lifted the layers of fabric in Aura’s dress, which revealed the various incantations along her legs that, again, seemed almost identical to mine.

When our eyes locked, I watched as her eyes switched to colorful prism orbs just like mine, while her elegant strands of teal with golden highlights were overtaken by white strands—just like mine.

Our auras began to blend effortlessly as they spun around us, igniting a magic circle of white with various hues of every color of the rainbow.

A tiny heart shape began to form right under Aura’s eye, the sight reminding me of the popular teardrop tattoo trend, only this was an engraved symbol that resonated with me.

It was enough to remind me of where it came from.

“I didn’t meanto die, Aura. It…wasn’t my intention. The man pushed me…and well…I died. The Coven helped me and so did Aurelia. I’m okay…I think.”

“You’re NOT okay! None of this is okay! Auri is clueless! She’s only going to get you hurt!”

“Aura.” I pouted my lips as I stared into her eyes, which were filled with tears. “I have to do the recovery treatment. I promised.”

“Then we’ll go together!”

“But…but you don’t need treatment!”

“I’m going to protect you! You’re important to me, Willow. You’re my only friend.”

“You should let me introduce you to Onyx,” I stressed. “He’d like you just fine.”

“No.” Aura shook her head. “Our energies aren’t compatible at all. Darkness and darkness means constant fights. Plus, he likes to stalk you. I can’t randomly show up with him always on guard.”

“Well…he’s not here right now.” I gave her a sad smile. “I’m not sure…if he’s coming back.”

She stared at me for a long minute before she let go of my hand to clap hers.“Knifanda Le Vu.”

I watched with surprised eyes as a miniature knife of black formed in her grasp.

“What are you doing, Aura?” I had to ask as she smirked and climbed onto the bed so she was inches from my face.

“Stay still! I gotta get this right or you’re gonna have an ugly drawing.”

The pinch of pain didn’t make me flinch, which may have been due to the medication still running through my IV, but I waited for Aura to finish whatever she was apparently drawing against my flesh with an actual knife.
