“Deal!”

I returnedfrom my daze as I watched the heart begin to be filled with a growing pink shade, which triggered the expansion of the mark that invited swirling lines that reminded me of green vines that began to blossom into various colored flowers.

When the mark was complete, it took up the majority of her right cheek while mine took up the majority of my left. The heart was surrounded by vines, roses, and a golden crown that floated just above the heart.

The moment the mark was established, Bria came forward within my subconscious. The action ignited the single word I knew would leave my lips the same time as it did Auraleia’s.

“Mate.”

That was all it took to seal the deal, leaving me not only feeling complete but suddenly far more confident than I’d been since the airplane drop.

"Aura,” I mouthed the word as if I feared what would be done if I spoke her name out loud. “You’re not invisible anymore.”

Her smile was priceless as she giggled and hugged me tightly.

"You remember!” she cheered. "I didn’t warn anyone of my arrival, fearing some would try to interfere, which is why my little brother came in my stead. Only Queen Elphaba knew since she personally invited me.”

She pulled back and took my hand in hers.

“I’m sure all of this is a shock, but if you give me at least ten minutes, I can give you a rundown while you prepare for the runway!”

“That…would be much appreciated.” I felt so giddy with happiness. It was odd and yet satisfying.

“Hmmm.” I blinked and simply glanced over to see Arthur was not only behind me but had his chin resting on my shoulder as he looked at Aura with great intrigue. “Sooooo…no one is going to bring up the fact that you look identical to the witch over there? Or is that for like, season two of Willow’s reign? Oh. That sounds exciting! We should make this into a dramatic series and end it off at this very moment.”

“That would be rather entertaining,” Aura noted as she actually seemed like she was considering it. "As for your prime question, my apologies once again.”

She gestured over to Aurelia before she sweetly looked back at us. “Aurelia is actually my twin sister. We only met what feels like an hour ago in Faerie. She left first since she has an obligation to attend this grand event because of her commitment to the Coven. I’m sure you are all intrigued as to why my sister and I have been raised in different supernatural planes, but I believe the runway is of more importance.”

Aura hooked her arm around mine as she looked at Queen Elphaba directly. “Your Majesty, may we be excused with the rest of Willow’s pack? I’d love to explain things while they get ready for the show.”

“Certainly," Mother declared, seeming pleased with the turn of events. “We will handle everything else. Please make your way to the newly assigned dressing rooms. Ruby? Whitney? Can you two please escort them?”

“Of course!” Ruby declared. “Follow me, everyone.”

I made a quick glance at Onyx, noticing his apprehensive gaze that looked farther past me. All I could do was follow the direction to the source as Aura encouraged us to step forward.

A mere glance back landed me on what Onyx was staring at. My eyes landed on Aurelia’s.

It was only for a few seconds, but I caught onto the emotion that made my heart clench with worry.

Envy…
