I didn’t understand. They were the same.
She smiled again and looked over to me to whisper, “Because I’m a boy at heart, and wizards aren’t welcomed in their ranks of power.”
“You’re a boy?” I blinked a few times in hopes of seeing through the illusion, but she grinned widely, showing her sparkling white teeth.
“It’s a secret,” she hummed. “But being a man without power is ranked useless where I come from. That’s why I can’t help you right this instant. If I had the power of my stepdad, you’d be out of danger and never be hurt again.”
She looked back at her palm and turned her hand to stare at the back of it.
“That’s why I need to go back. I need to change my destiny so that we make it to the finish line. All of us.”
“All of us?”
“You. Me. Aurelia,” she affirmed. “We’ll make it to the end. No matter how hard they try. We have to survive or war is inevitable. That’s what the Seer said. She told me I’d meet my destiny in a field of paradise, and through our own challenges, will overcome the trials and reclaim our domination of the supernatural realms.”
“Aura.”
She turned her attention to me once more, her eyes noticing my outstretched hand that yearned to hold hers.
“Do you think we can do it?” The words barely pierced the air as I feared speaking them into existence. “Do you believe that we can overcome whatever is ahead and beat this woman who wishes nothing but harm to us?”
Aura smiled as she reached out to entwine her hand with mine.
"I don’t think, Willow. We will. I’ll make it happen. No matter what. We’re going to conquer and prove to all of those who doubted us that we deserve to rise in power. To be the true heirs of our designated empires. We’ll continue fighting…and one day, we’re going to meet again. I promise.”
“But…I won’t remember you…” Tears blurred my vision at the thought.
“You’ll remember,” she assured me and squeezed my hand tightly. “You’re my destiny, Willow. No one will stop us from meeting again.”

“And who’s horny fault is that?”Bria noted as she rolled onto her back as if to look at her paws.
What are you doing?
It was the first time seeing her do something like that in the realms of my subconscious so it seemed far more intriguing than the growing fact that I was fucked senseless and would surely be limping thanks to the reaper wolf.
“Hmm…I don’t know,”she admitted but sounded more apprehensive than her usual wise tone.
She didn’t give me a further explanation, which made me mentally pout.

“We can’t right now.”She tried to hide it but I could hear the slight disappointment lingering in her tired voice.

Funny how our reward was supposed to revolve around running as a pack.But then shit happened and well…here we are.
I’d been awake for a while now but was still in the process of “building myself up” to return to my badass self.
In normal circumstances, I was sure I could take all the time in the world, but we weren’t dealing with normal circumstances.
