With wolf squeals and howls, I focused all on him while the others were clearly piling on Loki for whatever Arthur had brought up.

I paid no mind to them, focusing only on Arthur until we were both tired and resting on the grass.

"Willow’s powerful as a wolf,”Arthur commented."Are you guys going to train her?”

“We will when things aren’t as chaotic as they have been,”Dimitris announced.

I finally caught his scent, and my head turned to the right to see him approaching us with Viktor, Milo, Jayce, and Saint.

I was up and in front of Dimitris in three seconds flat — forcing the large wolf to come to a stop to acknowledge me. I stared at him for a moment before going on all fours and smiling in wait.

“Well, at least she’s getting better at acknowledging you,” Viktor noted as his wolf came to my side and lightly nudged my head.

I did the same in return, before rolling onto my back in hopes he’d play. He stared at me with an expression that reminded me of his human form doing a sour face, but Milo was hovering over me the next second as he leaned down to rub his furry head against my stomach.

“WOOF! WOOF!” I cheered at the tickling sensation before I was up and literally running circles around him so fast that everything was a blur.

“Is she supposed to be that fast?”Milo asked.

“No,”Dimitris noted.“I haven’t really figured out why she has pureblood speed. She could run fast like that before I bonded with her. I feel like it’s only gotten stronger.”

“There are a lot of unknowns involving Willow,”Jayce noted.“We really have to take the time to look into these things because it feels like it’ll be important later on.”

“There’s a lot we have to look into in general,”Viktor emphasized.“If only we could find the documentation involving the experiments conducted against Willow and Amos.”

“We found them,”Jayce revealed, which caught their attention.

I, on the other hand, slowed and noticed a butterfly that caught my attention.

I immediately went off to chase it but didn’t go too far from the group as the butterfly landed on a nearby tree.

Sitting at the base, I was glued to its bluish texture as hints of green and purple decorated its wonderful wings.

It looked like an alternate version of a Monarch butterfly, which was exciting enough to keep my interest.

“We haven’t been able to thoroughly discuss what was disclosed in there, but there’s more than enough evidence to pin on the Vile Queen,”Jayce emphasized.

“But we can’t bring that up yet,”Onyx stressed.“Not with them saying the Vile Queen is Aurel—”

“WOOOF!” I interrupted them, the mere mention of that name making me upset.

With a growl, I was up and ready to run away —as if that was going to stop me from hearing them —but the butterfly moved once more, which made me still.

It fluttered right over to me until it was sitting right on my nose. I stayed completely still, my eyes attempting to cross inward to stare at the beauty.

I moved ever so slowly to sit back down — the calculated movement successful as the butterfly remind perched on my nose.

“That’s Amos’s magic, isn’t it?”Arthur inquired.

Milo answered,“Feels like his. Where is he?”

“I’m letting him have his space before we bring him into the pack bond. He said he hasn’t been in wolf form in a while, though I don’t think he’s in his male form to be truthfully honest.”

“That would make more sense. Butterflies are a symbolism of femininity. It’s harder to maintain a butterfly spell as a male than a female,”Milo admitted.

“I didn’t know that,”Saint commented.

“The Fae world is rather complex in nature. Everything from magic to the creatures we can create stems from a lot of things. Magic level and gender are two important factors,”Milo explained.“When we have time in the new year, I’ll happily explain everything and teach you what I know.”
