“You have to go to Faerie soon, don’t you?”Jayce brought up.“You have to return Malika.”

“In a day or two. I mean, she’s in a protective place in between the realms of Faerie but she can’t be officially brought into Faerie without me,”Milo admitted.“However, with the whole A—”

“Don’t bring up her name for now,”Neo brought up.“It’s clear it upsets Willow.”

“Right,”Milo responded and continued with,“Due to the whole Coven situation, I’m not sure if Mother wants me leaving or not. It’s not like I need to be the one to deliver Malika back to Faerie now that my mother is here, but as her assigned Guardian, it was my duty to fulfill. By returning her myself, it means I’ve fulfilled the conquest at hand.”

“Then we can’t escape going,”Dimitris concluded.

“We?”Milo sounded confused.“You guys aren’t coming.”

“You thought we were gonna let you go to Faerie alone?”Saint brought up. "We’ll follow to ensure we’re getting you back. I may trust your mother, but your bold acknowledgment of courting Willow may bring some enemies to your doorstep.”

“I didn’t really think about that,”Milo muttered.“I doubt they’ll try with the turn of events.”

“We can’t be too careful,”Neo calmly stated.“None of us expected the events that occurred on the runway, but look where we are now.”

“You have a good point,”Viktor agreed.“So is the plan to check on De Luca Pack and ensure things are going well there first before heading to bring Malika back to Faerie?”

“Seems like the most logical plan,”Dimitris noted.

“As long as I can pass by a lagoon when we return, that would be perfect,”Milo confessed. “I’m sure Willow and Amos need a boost as well. Things have been rather wild since we arrived here.”

“That’s true,”Dimitris agreed.“Either way, it gives us enough time to see what we can do about the Coven situation.”

“We’ll come back in time for it, right?”Onyx asked nervously.“Is there anything we can do to stop what they’re planning? I know we all witnessed…that…but there has to be a reason for why she did what she did.”

None of them said anything, and I decided to zone them out. I was sure the conversation was going places I didn’t give two cents about right now.

Why should I feel pity for a killer?

The butterfly rose from my nose, and I watched it intently as it began to move through the forest.

Without making a sound, I moved silently and swiftly, knowing by the time the others looked over, I’d be gone.

Once I was further away, I enjoyed chasing after the fluttering creature, getting deeper into the vast lands that were getting thicker with wildlife.

“Wait. Willow?”Saint asked.

“And she’s gone.”Onyx sighed.

“Fuck. How did she move so silently that none of us noticed?”Jayce pondered.

“She’s gonna be a dangerous assassin of a wolf when she’s able to concentrate,”a voice I struggled to recognize.“I love it! Can I teach her how to rip wolf heads off?”

“No,”multiple voices argued before Arthur dramatically sighed.

“Boo.”

“We’re not even going to ask why you want to teach her that,”Loki noted.

“What? She has to learn how to protect herself. This is the wild wild west of wolf shifters. Or did you forget the Forbidden have loads of enemies?”

“Arthur does have a point,”Viktor admitted.“It’ll only be so long before everyone knows about Roberto, and trust me when I say, he has a lot of enemies. Beta Malachite has been doing damage control.”

“He has?” Neo inquired.“I didn’t expect him to be on our side.”

“He’s a merciless wolf who really hates the majority of people. He dislikes Willow, but not because of who she is. I guess it’s based on the persona painted about her until he was brought into the loop of knowing the truth about everything,”Viktor explained.“I’m sure Roberto wiped his memories a few times, too, when it was valid. I’m not necessarily sticking up for him, but I’ve noticed he’s been protecting our asses from some bold fuckers of the Underground who think this is a marvelous time to attack our assets.”
