“We need to get back on board with putting these fuckers back in place,”Dimitris growled in annoyance.“It’s ticking me off that we’re consistently reminded that we’re slacking.”

“Yet, they’re trembling at the idea of us making a move,”Saint noted.“That’s what you’ve overheard, Arthur?”

“Mhmm,”Arthur replied.“I don’t need to be there to get my channels of information. They want to strike us when we’re apparently ‘down’ which to them is right now. The real question is when?”

I entered a little clearing, noticing the sparkling surface of a mini stream.

Zoning the others out once more, I followed the fluttering butterfly until it landed upon the head of a majestic wolf.

The sight made me stay still as the glimmering fur of blue with tinsel strands of gold literally took all my attention. It was as if the coat of teal was embedded with magic, while the aura that surrounded the wolf was a mix of lime green and black.

The wolf’s frame was far smaller, similar to my size versus the rest of the guys, and the vibe pulsated with femininity.

My presence was noticed by her as she slowly lifted her head from the patch of floral grass that was next to the calm stream to peer my way. Eyes of shimmering gold with hints of teal met mine, which were wide and surely iridescent with how giddy I suddenly felt.

That sensation of overwhelming joy from before slammed through my senses, reminding me that this being was just like the others.

My fated mate.

Instead of pouncing forward like many other times, I took my time with my approach. Step after step, I crouched lower to the ground in hopes of not disturbing her peace even though she was obviously awake.

It felt so surreal approaching her. As if things were different because she was a female and not a male. With the others, I felt a need to be powerful and dominant by tackling them and showing my strength, but now, I wanted to show a gentle part of me.

One that truly embraced her feminine characteristics that were a mix of charm, attentiveness, and tranquility.

She remained still until I reached where she sat. The butterfly upon her head fluttered into the sky and did circles around the both of us.

Even in a wolf state, it felt like butterflies were fluttering in my stomach at the idea of giving off a good impression.

I wanted her to like me —even though I knew she did because we were destined mates —but my animalistic mind wanted to do more.

To really start things on a good foot because it felt vitally important to do so.

There were just so many factors that were desperate to break us, and though our reunion was a shocking surprise to me in human form, it felt so necessary in wolf form.

I was going to question why, but the world around us began to glow and hum in glee — creatures of the night coming out as if this was a congregation of celebration, while the surrounding trees of life began to illuminate in various shades of green and blue.

Fireflies with golden bulb bodies buzzed and gathered as more butterflies descended into the clearing and left trails of sparkling orbs.

As if entering a magical kingdom, it felt like we were surrounded by magic that yearned to praise our reunion, and it made me feel far too happy to be before this wolf.

This wolf named Auraleia.

She moved to press her forehead to mine, and the touch eased me immensely. It felt like despite the burdens and troubles that ignited the moment we were reunited, they would only be solved but in our favor.

I no longer felt anxious about the situation had hand, even though I’d been trying to ignore those bubbling sensations within me.

With the men, I felt safe, but with Auraleia, I felt like I could conquer anyone who dared test what was blossoming between us.

It was an empowering feeling.

Opening my eyes to meet hers, I slowly sat down as if to admire her a bit more. She was such a beautiful wolf that it made me feel a bit tomboyish in comparison.

It was a weird thought to have, which was why I began grooming my paws as if to look better for her.

She watched me for at least a minute before she lightly patted my head with her paw and yelped excitedly. I paused in my grooming session to watch her give me a sort of happy look before she howled, which made the butterflies flutter upward as a few animals that were looking at us took a few steps back.

She then got on all fours and lightly nudged my nose.
