ABSOLUTE LOYALTY AND BOW DOWN BITCHES: PART ONE

~WILLOW~

“You’re lookingat me as if you’ve never seen a woman in a sports bra and shorts,” I huffed in annoyance while giving Beta Malachite the side eye as he tried to not look like an awkward bulky fucker of a Beta in the corner of Roberto’s private office.

I swore he was going to take Onyx’s and Loki’s bulky titles if he got any bigger than he already was.

“How many meals do you eat in a day?”

“Do you enjoy jumping topics when you’re nervous?” he countered back with a scowl on his face.

He looked far too uncomfortable when this office was rather spacious being in the Pack House.

“Not necessarily,” I grumbled and pouted my lips. “But you’re fucking massive which makes me wonder how much you eat in one day. You have to weight train which means you gotta eat a shit ton to be so fucking bulky. You’re bigger than Onyx and Loki.”

“And that bothers you because?”

“I never said it bothered me,” I acknowledged and looked away to dart my eyes between the two suits I was struggling to decide on. “I’m just intrigued as I know I had to eat a shit ton when I was first building my physique for cage fighting. I can only imagine how much more you have to eat to combat your wolf metabolism.”

I crossed my arms under my breast and shifted my weight to my left side, while my head tilted to my left because I couldn’t stop going back to this pinkish-white suit.

Thanks to Beta Malachite, we got into the Pack House seamlessly, but as of now, only Beta Malachite was present with me while Jayce was nearby “blending in.”

Onyx didn’t want to be left behind, but I knew the sight of him or even Loki would get clocked by the pack members and the news of me being here would spread far too fast.

Which fucked up the whole “element of surprise” movement we’re trying to initiate.

Entering this space whiplashed me with the various emotional instabilities of the pack as a whole. The tension was high without being directly connected to such a massive pack, but the anxieties revolving around the future of the De Luca Pack were what really hovered in the atmosphere.

Going through the secret path Beta Malachite and Viktor only knew about helped me listen to snippets of gossip and worrisome whispers as the news of Roberto’s death was all that was being talked about.

Despite how cruel and ruthless most people portrayed him to be, all the talk I’d heard so far was these shifters’ genuine concern matched with the future of the pack with the strong assumption that I’d be taking over.

The news revolving around me claiming my birthright was also being spoken about —the event just as important seeing as it was connected to Roberto’s death —but surprisingly enough, many stated they were okay with me taking over as Alpha.

It was odd listening; Beta Malachite purposely came to a stop so I could listen to the conversation being held by those on the other side of the walls and vents of the secret passage.

Some admired me for my determination while others elaborated on my recent rise in the business and shifter realms.

The latest talk revolving around my birthright was another popular discussion with brief mentions revolving around King Amos, Prince Milo, and Dimitris —though I wasn’t sure why they were bringing up Dimi in their conversations.

Either way, so far, everything was positive which was surprisingly weird —and relieving.

Beta Malachite was told there would be a secret meeting going on which I was assuming was going to involve those who opposed me taking over the pack.

Beta Bitch surely being one of them.

That was why I was here in Roberto’s office trying to figure out an outfit to wear that would give off the vibe I was looking for.

“Maybe I should just be William for this confrontation,” I said out loud and sighed. “They’ll probably respect me more.”

Bria was resting because I was certain I’d need her if things didn’t go the way I’d like. Pack confrontations could go a whole bunch of ways, though the majority of the time they resulted in the Alpha wolf going at it with whoever wished to be the new Alpha of the pack. Either way, I wanted to be prepared and that required Bria to back me up.

At least she was rejuvenated and content after our run.

Hopefully, once this is all over, we could get into a proper routine.

"You’re fine as you are.”
