“If my dad and Alpha just passed away protecting me from danger, my ass wouldn’t be focused on the pack,” he carried on and shrugged. “Last time I checked, none of y’all gave a shit about her until it was revealed she was William.”

“Which side are you on?” a gruff male with orange hair shouted.

“I’m on the side that wants to live,” he replied. "You guys despise women yet you think Felicia over there is gonna make the perfect Alpha for our pack? What does she know about this pack?”

“Excuse me, Baku, but I ain’t going to stand here and take your bullshit.”

“You can certainly leave then.” The man really didn’t give two fucks. “I’d rather be led by Beta Malachite any day then by your ass.”

“Beta Malachite isn’t here.”

“No shit, Sherlock,” Baku countered and slipped his hands into his pockets. “He’s not here because he’s a loyal Beta to this pack's heir, Willow De Luca. Maybe the majority of you think she’s some weak bitch or something, but isn’t this the same chick that got her men to punish the fucking Vatican?”

No one could argue about that, which encouraged him to continue.

“How about the fact that she’s been targeted for what? Three? Four months? Obviously, she’s always been a target, even when we didn’t know she was actually William, but she’s been in the news a lot. Don’t act like you’re oblivious to what’s been going on. The attacks, the bombing, the shit she and those Forbidden dudes have been going through. You think Roberto protected her for shits and giggles?”

“Roberto made a mistake,” someone huffed.

“Alpha De Luca never made mistakes,” Baku argued back like it was true fact. “Every single move he made was calculated and something he’d never regret doing, which is why I can’t stand here and vouch against his only heir not being our Alpha. Roberto apparently died what? Yesterday in the early hours? You’re expecting Willow to just shrug her shoulders and waltz down here to deal with our pack of fuckers who didn’t give two shits about her prior or acknowledge her strength because we’re being a bunch of worrywarts?”

“If you don’t want to support us, why don’t you just ditch?” another tossed at him, to which he actually laughed.

“And not witness the possibilities of someone finding out the nonsense y’all are pulling? Just because Willow is busy, that doesn’t mean someone like Beta Malachite wouldn’t be snooping around waiting for the right moment to strike,” Baku revealed as he put his hands on the back of his head, which showed his tatted muscles. “Y’all make your decision whether you want to be for or against Roberto’s female heir, but certainly leave me out of it because I couldn’t care less who leads. As long as I’m fed, protected, have a roof over my head, and get to kill some fuckers once in a while, I couldn’t care less about whatever this rebellion is about.”

“You little shit,” Felicia snarled, but another stepped upon the platform.

One that looked far too familiar and distraught to not mentally acknowledge.

“No way. Garfield?”I mentally spoke specifically to Jayce and Beta Malachite. I wasn’t sure if it would channel the same, but it seemed like Malachite acknowledged my comment cause he side-glanced my way while Jayce mentally responded.

“He looks rather…disheveledt,”Jayce acknowledged from wherever he was chilling.

Clearly, we were witnessing the same thing as the orange-haired male was literally sporting bald spots while his flesh almost looked like he had some sort of infection — the spread of tiny black spots all over his arms and legs.

His attire wasn’t like the crisp outfits he usually wore, and he certainly didn’t look fine and dandy — his expression alone reminded me of a mentally ill person.

"If you’re so boldly fine with supporting our enemy, then leave,” Garfield snarled as his eyes narrowed in judgment. "Y’all praising a weak bitch like she isn’t enjoying her royal title and eating some good shit elsewhere. Do you truly believe she gives a shit about any of you? Especially now that she has fucking immunity?”

“Immunity?” someone asked in the crowd.

“Ah, yes. Lovely immunity.” Garfield lifted his arms up to his side as if he was weighing the options revolving around the powerful word. “When one has the royal title matched with the immunity card, it means you can’t fucking do shit to them. I mean, go ahead and try, but you won’t be alive for very long. That’s what she gained with her royal title, so tell me why she should care about any of your survival?”

I could feel the nervous shift in the room, but it seemed like Baku had his mind made up as he shrugged once again.

“So what about Alpha De Luca? Y’all thought he wasn’t royalty?”

“He was just a businessman with a shit ton of money and a ruthless Alpha,” orange hair said with a bit of disgust.

“You’d never be able to say that shit to his face,” Baku countered back. “And so what if he had the business mindset and money, and worked his wolf ass off to be a ruthless Alpha of his generation? You’re saying because he had all those checked off on his overpowered list that royalty wouldn’t be thrown on there?”

“He can’t be royalty,” another spoke. “What is he the ruler of? The wolves?”

A few laughed as if it was a funny joke, but others peered back at Baku as if waiting for his response.

The man carried a cunning smile as his eyes seemed to darken.

“Y’all know who Queen Elphaba Alundra Phoenix is, don’t you?”
