ABSOLUTE LOYALTY AND BOW DOWN BITCHES: PART TWO

~JAYCE~

The unexpected soundof the bell rang through the caged space, leaving me in a moment of stillness as old sensations came rushing back to assault my mind.

I took a single breath, the slow depths of my inhale sending prickling chills through me while my exhale forced me to zone myself out from the various sounds around me.

All I could focus on were two things:my opponent charging toward me and the rapid heartbeat of my observing mate.

Unlike the last time I was within the depths of a fighting ring, I was in a different headspace.

My resolve was clear as day even as my own nerves tried to lift their ugly heads and distort my mind from thinking clearly.

My paralyzing anxiety wanted me to stay still even though the rest of my body’s senses urged me to move before I was tackled by my enemy, but I was going down a different route with this fight.

I was tired of running away from my past.

"Take a piece of this, fucking punk!” Lorsan screamed as he aimed his fist to punch into my face.

I didn’t react until the last second, my hand not only managing to move between his charging fist and my face but taking the impact that was filled with far more than just your average punch.

I felt the vibrating power of magic strength aiding his intentions, and his cocky expression of triumph only dimmed as he realized I’d not only taken on his punch without being pushed back but wasn’t even impacted by the attack that should have tossed me out of this ring and into the rough dirt of the wall a few feet away.

“W-What?” he questioned as if he was truly baffled by my stance, but I was already moving in a blur —igniting a fire in my rushed spin as I swung him around and back the way he came.

The man went crashing into the fences, leaving his large ass to fall to the ground.

Those observing began to cheer, excited to not only see I wasn’t playing around but also using my own elements to back me up — flickers of fire danced in and out of existence as they spun around my body in circuits.

“Fuck,” Lorsan cursed and spat out some blood while he observed his punching hand that was literally burned.

The sight made my nostrils widen in hopes of getting a whiff of his burnt flesh, and sure enough, it came breezing by as the tainted scent teased the inner lining of my nose.

“You fire douche! How dare you?!”

“You’re fine with using abnormal levels of magic to support your fight against me but I can’t use a bit of fire?” I pondered as I rolled my shoulders back a few times. “Unlike you who keeps a tiny pill in your chipped back tooth for emergency confrontations like these, I was born with my power. I guess that’s the benefit of being a hybrid.”

“Lorsan’s using drugs?” someone asked in astonishment.

“I’m not fucking surprised. He’s a coward who talks a lot but has no fucking bite. Yet he wanted to be Alpha two seconds earlier,” another pointed out.

“What a joke. He’s dead in a minute.”

“I hope he somehow survives. He’d been a dick. He’s gotta pay for treating so many like shit.”

“SHUT UP!” Lorsan shouted to his left before he growled, “I’ve got all the power I need to take a jock like you out of the game. All I need is a minute!”

I smirked and cracked my neck as I opened my arms in an inviting gesture.

“One minute. Let’s see what you’ve got.”

I glanced over to Willow and Malachite, noticing my Rebel’s impressed expression while her pupils were clearly wide for something else.

A sign she’s rather hungry for something else.

Her obvious attraction matched with how impressed she was made me want to show her how far I’d come from my previous struggles.

That I meant every word that I was going to fight for the love I had for her.
