I frowned and glanced back at the image, only I noticed something I hadn’t before.

Queen Elphaba sighed as she rose up behind me.
“I didn’t want to believe it. Even with all the hints. But this confirms what we’ve believed for years now,” she declared as Roberto walked over to stand next to her.
“I told you it was the Death Witch Bringer but you didn’t want to believe me.”
“Can you blame me?” she countered to Roberto, who looked sympathetically back at her as he sighed.
“Sadly, I cannot,” he muttered. “Best you tell them.”
“Wait. If that’s not Aurelia, who is it?” I addressed the elephant in the room as my eyes sought the answer in Mother’s.
“That…was once my best friend,” she declared with a sad smile as her eyes never left mine. I held my breath as my heart stalled while I waited to hear the words she was about to reveal.

“Anastasia Delianna Clementine,” she announced. “Aurelia’s birth mother…is the Vile Queen.”
