Page 56 of Wolf Domination

I took this role upon myself. I wasn’t going to let it further weigh me down because things were getting overwhelming at the peak of a revolution. We couldn’t dominate our enemies by flaking when things got turbulent.

Do you want a day with Willow?

“Yes.”There was not a hint of hesitation.

I’ll make it happen before the new year.

I could already feel the immense relief flooding my senses.

“Thank you, Dimitris.”

Pass by with Milo when you get the chance. Catch him up with your findings and see if he knows anything about one’s ability to extract others’ gifts. If it's a royal trait, he’d know. If it's something magic-related, our next step is talking to Viktor. If we don’t get our answers after that, we need to have a meeting with Willow’s mother.

“About time they got a chance to talk to one another,”Jayce noted.“Things have been rather crazy.”

It won’t stop until the new year.

I knew that was a fact.

Get going, and if you confirm who tapped into my line, whether it was the Coven or one of the Vile Queen’s minions, let me know. I’ll keep playing the game.

“Who’s the number that keeps pestering you?”Jayce inquired.“The one you keep texting. Not snooping but it keeps showing up as a flagged number.”

One of the supernatural leaders. I don’t know his deal. He’s pestering me with threats that he’ll get Forbidden Enterprise shut down because of Saint’s involvement. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Empty threats didn’t scare me.

Jayce was laughing in my head in seconds.

“Let him say that to Willow and see how fast she shuts him down.”

I could only imagine. The thought made my lips hitch upward while I seemed to relax into my chair.

If it's Willow, he’d be thanking the Moon Goddess. If it's William, he’s as good as dead.

Jayce was laughing again.

“You already sound like you miss him when he’s sleeping in the same house as you.”

That was true.

I just want this to be over so we can treat Willow like the queen she is.

My words were laced with honesty as I spoke from the heart. No matter everything going on, I wished for it to finally come to an end. Willow had faced far too much in such a short period of time, and what I feared most was something happening that would finally make her snap.

She didn’t deserve that. Not when we were in the picture and supposed to shield her from this madness.

“We’re almost there,”Jayce whispered.“When we claim our stance of domination, no one will dare to try to overrule us. Just a few more takedowns, and we’ll finally be free to simply live and love.”

To live and love…

Sounds like a dream come true.

“No more alcohol,”Jayce encouraged as a reminder.“See you soon, Alpha.”

With a goodbye, I was alone with my thoughts and emotions, which I’d yet to determine if that was a good or bad thing now that the alcohol was settling in.

So much had happened and the day was merely half over. Logically, it made sense to feel this sense of unease, especially after almost losing Willow not once but multiple times since she was kidnapped, but I couldn’t allow myself to fully rest with the idea of so many lingering enemies hidden in the shadows in wait.
