“To have someone not only acknowledge our pain but still accept our flaws and madness is something I’ll forever be grateful for, Willow.” His words eased the heaviness upon my heart just a little. “Always remember that you gave us something we never thought we’d regain.”

“Mhmm,” Arthur joined in and was back to hugging me from behind despite Loki’s previous dismissal. “Freedom, Willow. You gave us freedom.”

We had our moment of silence as the heaviness of the conversation settled in before Arthur exclaimed, “Loki! Whatcha doing here?”

“I should be asking you that.” Loki huffed and narrowed his eyes at the man. “You better sleep with your eyes open every fucking day of your existence after you kidnapped my mate.”

“Now, now. Before you kill me for that, there was a logical explanation for my actions.”

“No, there wasn’t,” I noted. “You don’t do logical unless it falls in your favor.”

“Aww.” Arthur looked so touched by my words. “Look at my Sweet Domino. You know me so well already!”

He tried to kiss my cheek but Loki had him off me and hanging in a choke hold in three seconds flat.

“Loki?” I gasped.

“Let him suffocate for a hot—” The man didn’t finish because he was flying into the bed, the impact destroying the poor piece of furniture in one go.

My jaw dropped, as did the others’, and we were left to look for the culprit of the move.

Who was hugging me like he hadn’t lost his damn mind.

"Anyways!” Arthur cheered. “As Loki was saying, Willow wouldn’t be our Willow who stands here.”

Dimitris's scowl caught my attention—obviously because his poor bed was in shambles—but I guessed this conversation was more important because he asked what I was sure all of us were thinking.

“Who would take Willow’s place if she died and was ‘reborn’? Why would that be triggered?”

Milo and Jayce quietly moved to help Loki out of the crumbled wood pile as Arthur happily answered his new Alpha’s question.

“Haven’t you noticed yet?” Arthur countered. “They’ve already made their grand debut.”

“You mean Willa and Will?” I asked. “They’re my split personalities. That’s due to brain damage and shit from when I was thrown off the cliff at ten or something.”

“The incident with the judgemental Dubai royal who despised women and was later found deceased in the most gruesome way possible?” Arthur summed up and chuckled darkly. “Sweet Domino, that was all conjured up to put you right where you needed to be. The perfect opportunity to get access to one of the most important organs in your entire body.”

He then kissed my cheek and whispered, “And it’s not your heart.”

"Her brain,” Loki grumbled. He was thankfully out of the piled mess and wearing a deadly expression that told me he’d get his payback.

Arthur nervously laughed and stayed glued to me like I was a shield.

“Ding, ding, ding,” he sang. “We have a winner…Now don’t kill me for flinging you across the room for choke holding me. I’m still sensitive.”

Loki looked like he was going to blast him, but he held back as it surely dawned on him what he meant by that.

He shut his mouth the next second.

"The recovery you used to undergo, Willow,” Jayce brought up as his attention was solely on me. “Didn’t Viktor disclose what he remembered during the lagoon ceremony? How he and Roberto found you in a completely different facility that was under the Coven’s reign when they had dropped you off for your scheduled appointment?”

“Yes.” Just talking about it made me uncomfortable but I tried to hide it.

"Saint mentioned you were having nightmares, too,” Jayce further acknowledged. Milo added, “And you had one today, too. I had to interfere.”

“You interfered in my nightmare?” I asked because I couldn’t even remember I’d had one.

Guess all the sex made me forget.
