Page 94 of Wolf Domination

Jayce was still in his spot, closest to Dimitris, which I assumed was to ensure he could interfere if things got messy. From the energy in the room that continued to spike, I feared things would get combative, but Dimitris would never hit a woman.

He wouldn’t hurt Ruby…

Dimitris still wasn’t showing signs of remorse as he sighed. I felt the shift in the air, and there was the heaviness of power that forced Milo and Jayce to lower onto one knee.

I fought the urge, just like Ruby did, but I noticed how she struggled to the point that she was gritting her teeth.

When Dimitris opened his eyes, it was all Alpha wolf, and not a hint of mercy was in his gaze. Those pinks orbs were now an alluring shade of purple.

“You know who suffers when that ego of yours gets poked and you think irrationally? My pack members, and not simply the one trying to cause trouble. That energy starts filtering through our pack bond and it negatively spreads until every single one of us feels it,” he elucidated. “Arthur showed multiple signs of mental instability and you caught onto none of it. Do you believe a man enjoys hiding behind his woman? That he’s flattered by the idea of hugging and resting his head on her so the level of intimacy is enough to tame the true intentions he wishes to lay upon the target that is making him agitated? His spike of emotional misery was enough for Loki, a man who I’m sure hasn’t been in a pack since he got kidnapped all those years ago, to decide to pause the task I assigned to him and his other packmates to come here and do damage control. Even though he absolutely despises Arthur.”

Ruby bit her lip, but her eyes were fierce with hints of annoyance.

“Arthur is the man who kidnapped my sister, who works with the Vile Queen, and who I’m sure has done plenty of deeds that prove he should be behind bars, or better yet, executed.”

Executed…

“How can you judge him when you don’t know his story?” Milo was the one to speak up before I could. “You speak ill of Arthur and yet your very eyes saw his bandaged neck. Did it not cross your mind he had a magic collar that forced him to do what he was told like a chained dog?”

She didn’t answer, which led to Dimitris walking over until he stood before me, almost protectively, while Jayce walked over to my right side.

“Your anger stems from areas that don’t involve my pack. No matter your reasons for being upfront about this, I’ll give my honest opinion that it’s rather hypocritical to react like this.”

“Hypocritical?”

The temperature in the room spiked.

“And what makes me two-faced for protecting my sister, Dimitris Moore?”

“Alpha Moore,” Dimitris immediately corrected, and the temperature dropped tremendously to combat the intense heat. “Look me right in my eyes and tell me that you’d support the execution of Loki Charm.”

Her eyes widened at his words, giving her away.

“I don’t know your childhood or how you were raised in an area of royalty that made your viewpoints so judgemental, but unless you wish for Loki to experience the same fate as you wish to lay upon Arthur, I suggest you think very carefully of what you wish to accomplish as you continue to ‘protect’ your beloved sister,” Dimitris threatened as his eyes narrowed. “Or should I say, the future Queen of the Phoenix Empire?”

He took a step forward, then another, until he was facing her dead-on. The temperatures clashed, their auras smothering one another in nonverbal aggression, but Dimitris didn’t back down.

Neither did Ruby.

“Your sister has every right to be the Alpha of the Forbidden Pack,” Dimitris said loud and clear as he faced off against my sister with a blank stare. “I don’t carry an ounce of bitterness, for my mate has shown signs of leadership since the date I met her. Fearlessness, commitment, determination, and strength. She carries all the aspects that will not only help her become an amazing Alpha in the near future, but she’ll rise to every designed role her birthright and destiny entails.”

My heart thumped loudly against my chest while my stomach fluttered with butterflies at the pure confidence Dimitris was executing with the accompaniment of his wolf. Dimitris had defended me before, but to boldly state this to Ruby with the acknowledgment that Whitney and anyone else on the other side of the speaker would hear every word was mind-blowing to me.

“This is the last time I’ll ever tolerate you speaking to me however you like. My love for my Everlasting is what tames the slithering fury that wishes to take a bite of its prey and leave it paralyzed with my venom. We may be on similar grounds of power in the realms of wolves, but do not forget who I am, Ruby Phoenix.”

Then the emotions all faded away as that pureblood energy came slamming into Dimitris’s

frame.

“I am Sir Dimitris Moore, future ruler of my father’s Coven. I may have neglected my role as heir but I’m sure you’ve heard the news of my return and the official cooperation of my Coven with the pureblood association in protecting and supporting Beta De Luca and Forbidden Enterprise.” He laid it all down like this was a resume that demanded she understood how powerful he really was. “My pack is under that same protection, and despite the circumstance that led us to invite Loki Charm and Arthur Sephtis into our pack, I will not let anyone walk over them or use the forced actions of our enemies against them.”

He then chuckled. The sound was so frightening to hear that I actually shivered.

“Now, I encourage you to wrap up your visit, and I’ll warn you for future reference. Bother any of my pack members with malicious intention and you’ll never set foot on this property again. Understood?”

The fury in Ruby’s eyes was palpable, but she sucked up her pride to say the single word.

“Understood.”
