“You can’t make me sleep with you!” I snapped.
“No? I only got to touch you like this,” Bear said and ran a finger down my throat, and I shivered. Damn my body for betraying me.
“Don’t touch me,” I said sulkily, and Bear burst into laughter.
“Okay, baby, but you’ll beg me to touch you,” Bear said cockily, and I frowned. He swung a leg over the bike and motioned for me to get on.
“Take you back to Clio,” Bear said and started the bike. Confused, I climbed up behind him and let Bear take us back to Hellfire.

“Hey, Dylan has a lead on another sister,” Chance said when we arrived back. I looked up eagerly.
“Oh?” I asked, excitement welling.
“Yeah, the youngest,” Chance said, glancing at Clio. She was bouncing excitedly on a chair.
“Polyhymnia?” I asked, and Chance winced at the name.
“Hope the girl calls herself something else; that’s a fuckin’ mouthful,” Chance muttered.
“Where is she?” I asked.
“Springview, Nebraska,” Clio said. “About five hours away. We’re going to drive out there now and meet her. Would you like to come?”
“Yes, I need to get Kelly,” I said, clapping my hands together.
“We’ll take the truck,” Chance said. “We can fit in there.”
“That’s okay, or Kelly and I can follow you?” I offered.
“Yeah, I’m coming with,” Bear grunted, and Clio shot him a glance and then stared at me. I felt like the fact we’d been having wild sex was written across my face. Clio smirked and nodded.
“I’m okay with that,” Clio said. Chance sent Bear and me a curious look and grunted. I still didn’t know what to make of my sister’s husband, but Chance wasn’t holding a grudge. Well, not a visible one, at least.
“Call Kelly,” Chance ordered, and for once, I didn’t bristle at being told what to do. Kelly answered the phone and arrived at the forecourt half an hour later. We left ten minutes after he arrived as Clio demanded chicken satays for the journey. Kelly and I ended up joining Chance, Clio and Bear in Clio’s brand-new truck.
Chance drove, and Clio sat next to him, leaving Kelly, Bear, and me in the back. I was sitting between the two men with Bear’s thick thigh pressed against me. Several times I’d tried moving over to give us a little room, but Bear’s thigh remained firmly against mine. A glance at Bear’s face showed his amusement, and I finally settled, disgruntled. Kelly kept sending me strange looks as I pressed into his space, and I finally stopped and settled in for a torturous drive.
I was dozing when Kelly nudged me, and I sat up, realising that I’d fallen to sleep on Bear’s shoulder. I rubbed my eyes and moved across the seat, and peered out of the window. Night was falling, and we were driving down a street.
“Where are we?” I asked.
“Around the corner from Polyhymnia, thought I’d better wake you now,” Kelly replied and held out a tub of breath mints.
“Thanks,” I said, taking two and sucking them hard. Bear leant across to me.
“Like to see you suck me like that one day,” Bear said, barely audible, and I choked on a mint. Chance sent a look at us in the mirror, and Kelly whacked my back. As soon as Chance looked away, I rammed an elbow into Bear’s ribs. He let out a loud huff, and Clio turned around in her seat.
“You okay, Bear?” Clio asked, knowing eyes on us both.
“Yup, Thalia has boney elbows,” Bear said, dumping me straight in shit.
“I was stretching,” I muttered, and Kelly snorted. Clio looked suspicious, but Chance pulled over and let out an oath.
“Shit!” We peered through the windscreen and saw a woman taking on four men. Reddish long hair pulled back in a ponytail snapped around as she flung a man over her shoulder and throat punched a second. A quick glance at her face confirmed it was Polyhymnia.
“Stay here,” Chance ordered as the truck’s doors opened and Chance, Kelly, and Bear spilled from the car and moved to help the woman. I leant forward and stared at the stranger who was grabbed from behind. Without hesitation, the fourth man flew at Polyhymnia, grabbing her from behind tightly. She grabbed hold of her captor’s arms and lifted her legs, kicking the third man straight in the gut. He collapsed to the ground, and Polyhymnia smashed her head back, and the man’s arms loosened. The girl cracked him with an elbow and swept his legs out from under him.
