“Alice and I agree. It’s as if Cara’s seeking potential partners. There’s the lightweight flirting we do, and then there’s take me to bed and fuck me hard flirtation, which is Cara’s. Cara’s not a good fit, Magic,” I replied, spying Satan’s Warriors entering and waving at them. Cara strutted over to their table and, before mine and Magic’s eyes, fluffed her hair up and thrust a hip. I don’t know what was mentioned, but Cara came back with a huge grin.

“Told you the rules,” Magic grunted, and I fidgeted. Oh, I hadn’t expected Magic to confront her in the presence of Kenny and me. I inched away as Carla gazed at Magic with innocence.

“I don’t understand,” she said sweetly.

“Don’t play me for a fool, woman. Instructed you, no flirting and encouraging the customers. And you’re doing just that in front of me. I don’t hold with fights over women in this bar, and you’re setting out to cause them. You want this job, tone it down, or the door’s there.” Magic pointed to the two wooden doors at the entrance. A look descended over Carla’s face as she spied me.

“Oh, but it’s okay for Bunny to flirt with every male and then kiss some man,” Cara squealed in a whiny voice.

“Number one, Bunny lightly flirts. The guys know not to touch Bunny because she’s off-limits. Bunny never encourages a brother to take it too far, like you’re doing. Two, that’s her man, not a random guy off the street. Pyro gives her a hello kiss and lets Bunny continue her work without interference, or he gets bounced. You’re too heavy. Now tone it down, and this is your last warning,” Magic stated baldly, his arms crossed over his massive chest. Cara sent me a dirty look and then picked her tray up.

“One rule for one and one for another,” Cara muttered as she passed me. I winced at her expression and knew she’d not stay past the week.

“Find the other two before I strangle her,” I warned Magic. The rest of the night was easy apart from the barbed jabs and overblown sugary sweetness Cara aimed at Magic. Cara may be beautiful and young, but she was a pain in the ass, and Magic would not fall for her act. I was wiping some tables down when Dakota growled, and I jumped.

“What the fuck you think you’re doing?” Dakota snarled, and I wondered if someone had come in. Turning, I saw Cara behind the bar and Dakota gripping her wrist.

“Pyro?” Magic boomed, coming out of the kitchen.

“Bitch was going down Bunny and Alice’s tips and taking money,” Pyro said, and my eyebrows shot into my hairline. Cara was doing what?

“You’re wrong. I was tallying them up because we share the tips equally, don’t we?” Cara stammered. Oh, maybe this was a misunderstanding, and she wasn’t guilty of attempted theft.

“Except I made damn sure I informed you that each waitress and bar staff kept their own money. That’s why the glasses are labelled.” Magic glowered.

“Sorry, I misunderstood!” Cara exclaimed.

“Seems you misunderstand a lot, bitch. Get your shit and leave. Here’s your pay for today. Don’t come back,” Magic growled, pulling out a wad of bills and separating some. Magic handed them to Cara, who stared at him in disbelief.

“You know I’m a top bartender?” Cara cried, and Magic shrugged.

“Not here, you ain’t. See ya.” Magic took Cara by the arm, gently guided her outside, and stood by the entrance, ensuring she got to her motor safely. Cara swore at Magic a few times, and then we heard her car pull out, and Magic locked up.

“Fuck me, that was a mistake and half. Clean-up’s done, ladies. Alice, get your shit, Kenny, and I’ll walk to you your car,” Magic demanded. Alice disappeared into the back before reappearing.

“Got keys Pyro? Know alarm codes?” Magic asked.

“Yeah, got everything. Tomorrow Chance is sending Shotgun and Levi to stay. And then brothers will take it in rotation,” Dakota replied.

“Have a good evening,” Magic called and lumbered through the doors. Dakota locked up, set the alarms, and we headed for my apartment.

Chapter Seven.

Irolled over, presenting my bare ass to Dakota, who hauled me against his chest. We’d made love for ages, and fallen to sleep naked, which was nice. I wasn’t self-conscious about my body, as it looked decent and in good shape. In fact, I was pretty proud of it, considering I hated the gym, and my only exercise was walking.

“Is there any news?” I asked, yawning and covering my mouth.

“None yet, but shit’s hitting the fan, so everything is on the down-low for now. If I hear anything, baby, I’ll let you know,” Dakota replied, nuzzling my throat.

“Tanner’s out there, and I bet he’s still looking,” I whispered, sliding my hands into his hair. Dakota’s cock poked me in the thigh, and I wriggled. “Dakota, I’m sore.”

“Yeah, I guessed you might be after that marathon last night. Wish this apartment had a bath so you could relax. Hate that shower.” I laughed at Dakota’s pout and climbed out of bed.

“Gonna get Fanatic to bring us breakfast. Want anything?” Dakota shouted while I was in the bathroom.

“Full works?” I called. While Dakota showered, I walked downstairs and put the coffee machine on. It was pretty fancy for the bar, certainly an indulgence, but Magic lived on caffeine, and so did half the staff. Happily, I punched my toffee latte and made Dakota his plain Americano black. I’d opened the back door and sat on the bench when Dakota stormed out.

“What did we tell you? Bunny, I couldn’t find you in there, and it scared the shit out of me,” Dakota erupted. Oops, I hadn’t thought, I just did what I usually did and came out to enjoy the sun.
