He’d taken off his jacket at some point, draping it over a nearby chair, leaving him in nothing but a thin, gray t-shirt that clung to every inch of him perfectly. His skin was hot to the touch, the corded muscles of his forearm mesmerizing as I traced my fingertips higher.

Tank took a piece of cake dipped in cream and raised it to my lips. I studied his face, watching his pupils blow wide with arousal as I took the cake and the tips of his fingers into my mouth, sucking the cream off him.

He inhaled sharply. The muscle in his jaw flexed.

“Tank,” I whispered.

“Yes?” he rasped.

“Take me home with you tonight.”

He shifted closer, bracing his hands on the counter and blocking me in. His shirt gaped open at the collar and I caught a glimpse of tattoo ink scrolling across his sternum.

“How much have you had to drink tonight, sweetheart?”

I lifted one shoulder in a half shrug.

“Two…maybe three mimosas. Lost count.”

“Your cheeks are pink,” Tank pointed out. “Very pink.”

I reached up, tracing the column of his neck, his jawline, and up to his mouth.

“I know what I’m asking.”

“Are you sure?”

I flicked my gaze up to his face as I dragged my hand down his torso. This man made me bold. Made me hungry. With a strong helping of alcohol on top of that, there was nothing holding me back.

“The way you kiss me…I can tell you want this just as much as I do.”

Tank’s throat bobbed as he swallowed. I could see him hesitating, being the gentleman so he wouldn’t take advantage of me in my tipsy state. I lowered my head, pressing an open-mouthed kiss to his neck.

“Fuck,” he breathed, the vibration deep and rough against my lips.

“Take me to bed, Tank,” I whispered. “Keep me safe.”

Chapter Seven

Tank

Jules’ words shattered my resolve. I clutched at her waist, kissing her so hard and deep that she whimpered against my mouth. I could taste the alcohol on her tongue though, see the tell-tale drunken flush that colored her cheeks and neck so perfectly. All I wanted was to lift Jules onto the counter and bury myself inside her, watching those delicate pink lips part on a gasp as I stretched her open.

But I couldn’t do that when she was drunk.

Tucking her into my side, I guided Jules out of the kitchen and to my bike. It was well after sunset by now. My apartment was closer than her family’s business.

Keep me safe.

After making sure Jules was settled on the bike, helmet strapped on, I held her arms around my waist as I drove her to my apartment. Crow and Bear would do their best to protect her family. But Jules was my responsibility. I’d gotten her into this mess. Tonight, she was going to sleep in my arms where nothing and no one could ever lay a finger on her.

By the time I pulled up to my apartment, I could feel Jules beginning to doze against my back, her body going soft and limp. I kept my hold on one of her arms as I parked my bike. Her head lolled to one side and she blinked sleepily.

“You can barely keep your eyes open, babe,” I said softly.

She tried to shake her head as I unstrapped my helmet.

“I’m awake,” she protested.
